Freelancer Global Server going down ????????

I herd from a friend that Freelancer Global server is going down in 2008 ! Is this true ?
then if this does happen no new players will know about the void server and so no knew players will join  . eventually it will mean the end of the void server as well as people will slowly leave but no one comming in ! Cant we do something , anything ? Like a Partetion or something like that  and send it to microsoft ! if void server goes down as a result of lack of players which will be a result of having the global server going down. in other words if Void server goes down then what will everyone do that likes playing FL online do ! this is my only best online game that i like to play ! what will i do ! :-SS

yes it is true....

i doubt it will be the end of the void tho...
all it means is we will have to find new ways of getting new players...

advertising on lancers and other freelancer based websites....
word of mouth is a good one....tell your friends and family about a wonderful place called the VOID and invite them and their friends to come play...

i found the void through google! searched for freelancer mods and found this site....

there are lots of ways to get new players...not just through the global server and thanks to direct connect, we dont need it

all we need 2 do is work 2 get more players

in the past the global server list got the void new players

now we need to give somethin back by working ourselves 2 get more players

so as gav said spread the void through fl based sites and tell ur friends and family

the void CANNOT die

so when the list goes down start workin

Void is a big enough server anyways, i doubt the admins want too many more players to join.

This rumour is that, just a rumour.

It's not fact it's people trying to make assumptions

Try calling MS and ask them, I did in February and they have no plans to remove the global server.
So, why did i ask them, because they have advised that they will cease providing support for FL, when asked for clarification, they advised that they will no longer provide support on the MS gaming website for technical issues. So why have they done this? because they have a policy of ceasing support after a set time for all games they make.
So, if they cease support, will they remove the global server? No, because this is integral to the game and their are no plans to remove the global list. Ceasing support is different than pulling the global server list.
I made the call and I got the above info - its not rumour, assumption etc etc.

There you go. Sure things might change, but until someone actually provides a definitive statement about it, dont listen to the rumours.
BY the way, nobody can provide any definitive staments about removing the global list because MS havent made any.
I'm sure, eventually they will, but until then.....

Time to move onto another rumour I think.....

Also, MS cut the global server for MechWarrior  4 a year ago, and there is still a strong community, and a third party now runs the global server enabling the Leagues to continue, so there is no reason why a similar state of affairs can not exist for FL if MS were to eventually close the server.

Deathknight heard it from me cuz i saw this rumor in readme file of FL Direct Connection Tool and i heard it from a friend aswell.If global server is staying it will be great.If not ppl should announce more about FL Direct Connection Tool.

It has nothing to do with MS nor does the guy (Max) who made it

ok people lisen for now NO 1 KNOW'S if global server will go out the only way to know is to call MS like strail did if they dont asnwer back then well just have to wait until 2008
