Just to echo the above support - Thanks for all your hard work and efforts.  I am one of the "lower end" users with 512mb and a basic pc setup that is nearly four years old and I was thankful to find I could run the previous mod.  I may try the new one, but to be honest I am prepaired to bide my time until I can get it loaded ok.  Good move not using FLMM that way the cheaters are at least neutralised for the moment - until they try another way off messing with things of course!

I might go and have a bash at getting it going and promise not to throw a hissy fit and shout at the terminal......If all else fails I shall play SP for a bit with the old mod.

Keep up the good work - ... cheers - Zeb  :D

What do you think the approximate percent chance of a major bug occuring (one that would freeze/crash freelancer, desktop, inet connection and/or entire computer) with the latest version of the mod? Also, where can i find the latest mod and how do i download it?

I was campaigning to have the mod re-released for FLMM, didn't realise we were trying to keep cheaters away. My bad. Sorry if i bugged anyone. I just want to be absolutely sure nothing gets screwed over on my end, whether it be mine or the mod's fault.

I think it is probably worth the initial problems with the new mod if it stops the cheaters and I'm sure it should be okay when the bugs are sorted out. It is fairly easy to switch the installed files and restore the originals to play on other servers. Ive been switching between the void (2115a) and Discovery RP server without any problems.

The main problem seems to be lack of memory, this is easy and cheap to fix by adding more RAM (i still cant believe it need to load so much into RAM, that explains the sluggish behavior of the machine).
Graphics cards are usually another problem area, update the drivers to the latest version or if it is an older card think about replacing it (a resonable card can be bought for £30 or so from CCL)
Every PC is different in terms of hardware and software installed and over time XP tends to become less stable due to the odd corrupt system file and the best course of action is a clean install of windows. We all know this is a pain but with a broadband connection downloading all the security fixes and patches doesn't take too long and the machine will run better.

Works fine for me, loading screen only shows up for 15 seconds then I'm on, but that might have something to do with the quad core processor and 3gb of RAM I'm using.

Its you older computers that need the TLC at the moment :P

No matter how irritating the load the downloading whatsoever blah blah blah...
It all happens to me too and i can get very annoyed...but i can be very patient
,i can wait until everything gets fully perfect...Its just a GAME FFS!!
Even though i'm a game addict,Well just look to the bright side of Future,Void
will never DIE!!

And i believe Strail and other Admins can fix this out and thank u for making
the new mod and even i haven't been on i know it will be better than ever LOL
So people who are losing it,PLS think and focus about Patience cause patience
is everything.

OUT!

quick point of fact here..

If we made the mod in flmm format not only would you still experience the exact same problems since the files would all be the same, but it would become impossible to add clan bases and such things in small updates meaning a routine 100meg download everytime we wanna change something.
