Re: Mod Update - PC Issues
You don't need to download any files xenon, dacom.dll is in the freelancer\exe folder, its just a simple mismatch of the path setting with the mod installation.

Re: Mod Update - PC Issues
I loaded the beasty last night from the website link and just followed the instructions - Im a 512mb chap myself. I just followed the instructions and for sure it took 55 minutes to download but there were no probs with missing files or anything, so I guess for once, computer illiteracy actually helped! It was worth it. I have no idea what my grafix card is but Boy where the pictures sharp! Bit of a delay when flying and doing the jump gates / docking but that was to be expected. I will be learning much from this. Depending on how the fix goes I am still considering an inexpensive and practical "upgrade". I shall await the arrival of the fix - Being the dumbest one here then feel free to utilise my ignorance as a test bed for any K.I.S.S. issues (Keep It Simple, Stoopid) - PM or e-mail and I can letcha know how I got on.... Sufice to say - Freekin' Fantastic Lookin' Mod!

Re: Mod Update - PC Issues
I downloaded the mod in 3 minutes, took about 4 minutes to install it. After installation it went to the Void loading screen and I stared at the loading screen for 40 minutes until I got impatient and shut down my computer by holding the power switch... And yes I timed it; I looked at the clock when the Void screen opened so I could test it. I'm one of those unfortunate ones with only 512 mem also...
Hopefully you're able to work something out and the load times can be lessened.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Mod Update - PC Issues
Glad to hear you're addressing the 512mb problems Strail, thanks for the effort.
Urami, I did leave my PC run a good long time with the splash screen, after killing all other programs even my AV. I came back and only saw the "Freelancer has crashed, do you want to submit a report..." message.
If it don't start in 30 min it's reset switch time, even if it does start after all that time there's probably no resources left anyway.

Re: Mod Update - PC Issues
I had a same problem with loading. First time tooked me almoust 50 min. and crashed after 10 min. of playing. But then I have limited the virtual mem to 2 GB and guess wath, FL loaded in 12 min.
When I leave windows to play with virtual mem settings max amount of mem never crosses 968 MB. That is why my FL crashed.
