With regrets

It is with great regrets that I have to announce the end of the Reavers clan as you know it. We will be closing up shop.

The clan has been sliding downhill for some time now. The interest in the clan and its RP (in any evil clan for that matter) has shrunk to sub-zero. There haven't been any new applications for a while now, despite our efforts to counter this. And although we have a decent member list on paper, only 3 or 4 sometimes play, and not even at the same time. This hasn't exactly helped us getting new meat. Even the number of visits by our own members to the site I put so many hours of work in, is far below what should be acceptable.
Some of this inactivity can be blamed on real-life situations, but not all. And even then.
Apart from that, I haven't been able to spend enough time to keep the clan alive. I have been thinking of assigning a new leader or a co-leader who could back me up when I would not be in the opportunity to do my job, but to be honest no-one is active or motivated enough to do it.

The growth of Navy clans and their members has a big part in this. The evil / navy balance in-game is long-lost. When we play, we find ourselves ridiculously outnumbered each time. It's not that we don't like that - hell it's our RP - but the numbers have been way out of balance for a long time now. The evil clans on Void have made several efforts to counter this, but up till now, all in vain. And let's be honest here: If you have to fly your tag alone or just with the 2 of you against too many adversaries, at some point it just stops being fun. And when it stops being fun, the whole purpose of having a clan - having fun - is gone.

I do not like the idea of the Reavers leaving at all. We followed an RP that we believed was an asset to the gameplay on Void. We always tried to bring a little fun to all other players through our RP, and I can only hope we have achieved that goal in at least some occasions. I think it's a shame this will be gone now. Personally I have always felt extremely drawn to the clan's spirit, and through time and promotions, it has come to feel as 'my baby'.

I will miss it.

Leaves me to say the following.

A huge big THANK YOU to any and all members who have put time and effort and a lot of patience in playing the difficult RP that is Reavers. Even though we have lived a short life, I feel we have made a presence in our time and we can all be proud of that.
Not in any way less, I would like to thank the players who have gone along with our RP, respected it and did it honorably. Thank you for having us.

You all have my gratitude.


I will be flying my =|MAVERICK|= NPC / PvP char, and of course you will still see me in my [FAQ] char. Apart from that, I will fly unmarked chars and lay back for a while.

I'm sorry to hear that you are disbanding reavers, You did a lot for the roleplay of the server showing how iot should be done, and you have put a lot of effort into tyring to enrich the roleplay environment. Good luck with what ever path you try to take in FL.

To bad that this has happened, the reavers were a colourful add to the server.
I am glad that you, and hopefully the rest of the reavers, will still be flying out there even though it won't be under the Rever tag.

Sorry to hear that Mav, this is a great loss for all of us.

Indeed the balance between navy and evil is long lost but I'll take this opportunity to announce that Syndicate will continue Reavers work. The evil cyborgs from the Void will from now on add to it's agenda scheduled ambushes, raids and other similar evil acts like the ones practiced by Reavers.

We'll keep the torch burning for you Reavers, so if you ever feel coming back,we'll be the first ones to say "welcome back and lets pwn some navy"!
