Scythe buddy, if my words have come across the wrong way then I apologies but you know me, I get straight to the point. You say you've killed everyone on the server many times, but you seem to forget other players killed you many times please don't have an ego trip :)

Constructive criticism is the only way any thread will ever go forward. if people nod their head in agreement and it just goes ahead with no real thought then its going to fail. Geromix brought up some very good points. if you can answer them then why wouldn't this idea work?

I don't really want to teach because I don't see myself as that good a PvP'er. I won't big myself up and I won't try to make myself seem like i've worked my butt off to get "good". i can't guarantee I will be on when school starts  @-) xD.

But note this, if people want to be taught then I will teach them when im on... last night I taught para how to slide etc in EFZ because he asked me there and then. I had time on my hands so I took the time to do it. This goes for every player here. I will take them there and help them learn how to fight. But I don't see why people would want to, I suck :D

Just make a post, ask some players to help teach when they are onget there MSN or something and ask them to come on. Its your idea so make it work,

Greaver.

What u need to do is pick a man, ask him to fight with you...or you fight with him, if you have too make a rogue smurf  ( if its an evil guy ) and just get in there with your partner and mix it up. 1 teacher - 1 student? for at least a good month, then swap about to a different teacher too learn different things.
See easy as that.

I know this would seem alot of effort, but maybe some of the teachers could make short vids of different ways to fight, so like certain steps like how to fly, dodge strafeing and when to shoot(if sniper) and many more other vids that would be helpful....

Is only a suggestion

and hello  :)

Difficult topic.

Just keep in mind what training can do- and what not.

Group training can:
-give some tips
-train coordinated fighting (which obviously has been very negledted by many)

1:1 Teacher training can:
-give some tips
-point out some mistakes.

However, there is a lot no one will be able to take away from you by teaching...and that is:
-spill your own blood (aka fight a lot against better players)
-find your own style

To me, the latter two are the most impotant ones (the previous ones are not to be neglegted, though). So don't have the impression attending such a school would make you an ace in a week.

And as a side note...to be really good, you just don't have to copy someone. You have to find yourself...and your own, new ways. Through my active years, I always tried new things. A lot of them didn't work- but some did. And when you do something no one thoughts of, you already have a big advantage in every fight.

Want an example? There was a time every player flew either a conqueror or an anubis with brawler setups (nomad lasers where much inferior back then, mainly due to short range). Good ole becker could hold his own in that game, but wanted something new. And guess what? He tried an eagle, with nomad lasers, screamer (and a cannonball if my memory serves me right). Together with some new moves, this was something which gave most people headaches in one-on-one fights.
Half a year later, eagles with lasers were abundand...but that's another story :)

Cheers

Teaching other ppl is a nice idea, is generous and could make game more interesting FOR EVERYBODY. It failed in the past, but it doesnt mean that it will fail now. If you take some goods advice from veterans you can make it for sure. The only prblem is that it means much more work :(. The videos are a very good idea, and could be part of the training. Seeing you fighting, and compare it with good pilots is very instructive.

About some player dont want to teach, well I understand that sometimes persons are afraid that others players could beat them so it is a very human reaction. They forgot those times when they were teached or they would like to beteached  that is very human too ^^

not so good , do you want to teach other people how to kill you ??? i dont think so . everybody here  learn how to PvP themselves ! in my opinion they must to practice in the single game , and when they will be good they can come here .

I have to disagree with you here, on both points.

1) The single player game IMHO is no training at all for Online PVP. fighting a human opponent is a completely different challange than the AI.
2) And yes (at least during my active time) I trained some people, well aware that they might get better than me. Some did. And guess what? I am proud of it, because I managed to take part in helping them to unfold their full potential. And guess something more...that helped me to improve my own skills, too. As you may have heard...often enough the teacher learns (at least) as much as the student,

:-)

The best school is fight with RP enemy and PvP with better pilots.
If you are weak as a kitten, try fifty PvP's. If you don't see any progres, try more hundred PvP's.
And if pilots like Stoert will kill you fifty times, any progres you will see, that's for sure.

but we are all too much busy in sparta to have time to be busy with voidians ^^

(a short answer that will show that this idea can't be applicated)

1-the void is a complex mod, every thing like trading or ships have important consequences on this subject, so plz try to see devlopment subjects too plz

2-improve rp and the void compenents like systems and ships and guns will be the key
