Connection Problem

First of all, hello !

I have installed Freelancer today for the first time, and mod manager as well. Then, I go to multiplayer but when I'm at the server list thing, it doesn't show me any servers, do you know whats wrong ? Oh, and yes I have activated the mod from FLMM ( a friend helped ).

so go to the home of this website, and click on "DIRECT CONNECT" bottom, download the thing, and double click on it, go to MP, then INTERNET then double click on the          Void  server

Then double click on create a new character, create a new one with teh name u want, but no offensive nicks coz u will be banned. Just an epic nickname

And above all, WELCOME TO THE VOID !

When I download that thing from Direct Connect i get : fl_void.lnk.

What do I open it with ? Or what do I do with it after ?

double click on it, then click : "open"
then run FL and follow what i said above

This has been posted on the forums by a fellow Voidian X777:

you will direct connect with the Void server only . Please Do the following to connect to the void

1- right click on the Freelancer icon on the desktop
2- click on " properties "
3- click on " Find Target "

Then a Folder will be opened of the Freelancer game setup.

4- Find a File named " FLDirectIP"
5- Double click on that file , and it will open a Window.
6- Add on IP Address ----> 85.14.217.82
7- Add on the Port ------> 2302
8- Click on " ADD SERVER "
9- Click on " Launch Freelancer "

Freelancer will open.

10- Choose " Multi-Player "
11- Choose " LAN " , dont choose internet

the list will open and only VOID server will show on the list.

12- double click on VOID Server , and WELCOME online.  


DO THIS OR JUST simple go to your icon on the desktop and in the target field put

"EXISTING TARGET" -85.14.217.82:2302  

BE SURE TO HAVE A SPACE THERE BEFORE THE "-" sign and leave the quotes on the existing target - do not extend

If i double click on it it doesn't show any thing, it just changes the icon transparency, like when you use "Cut" option.

try to reinstall all of FLMM and void and FL

Do I have to upgrade my FL ? Now its 1.0 or something like this..

no don't upgrade it, try to do all the solutions that we mentionned, be patient and it will work

its -s85.14.217.82:2302 m8 dont forget the s before IP

Or just simply download GLS Workaround, you can find it in downloads section. Just follow the setup instructions and install it. It makes you able to see many freelancers servers and Void as well.
