From my point of view Admins and "Voids" should be much more active here on this forum.And by this i mean that they should actually post somthing publicly instead of hiding in their lounges or solve any matter via PM.
I imagine the current situation to be like them casting their votes about the faith of the server (mod+website etc) without the community having anything to say about it.

And let's not forget that by the fact that they choosed to have a diffrent color on their forum nickname plus thick letters to stand out more and show to everyone how "special" and "unique" they are just prooves to me that it's a bad direction we're heading.

Very sad,because in my opinion in a community of players everybody should be equally seen.
2005 website had no colorful nicknames in it and things were just fine back then.

I do understand that most of them have RL issues needed to be taken care of (jobs,families,university etc) but it really doesn't take you more than a few minutes to actually write something on a forum.

Let's not forget that some admins have left or are very busy in rl
(tiods,fracture,ww,zeb,wayfarer,kahless)

Others got bored of Freelancer for example Clavat who is actually showing us the new games he plays in his signature.Good job doing that on a forum of an 8 year old game.Bravo!
Ruggles also posted that he "got a new rig" so yeah probably the new fancy games need a better computer to be played smoother? etc etc

I was told that the new mod will be released in the begin of June,we're closing in on August.

I really don;t know what's going on and this is mainly to be balmed on the lack of communication between Admins and the Community.

If something's gotten wrong or takes any longer to fix why not post here on the forum to inform everyone about it?
Why not post at all anything on the forum.Vector-x hasn't posted anything since two months jet everyone things that he is busy with mod and new webiste.
Why isn't he actually telling people what's actually being done or in consideration to be done.

If you're an admin here and not post in months on your forum than you should think about what kind of message your transmitting to the others by this.A pretty bad one if you ask me.

That's all i have to say right now and i am very confident that the admins will not bother replying here (80 % )

Only Strail and Vector as far as I know, now have coloured knicknames.

At the moment we are having regular meeting discussing the proposals of the Core Reforms Team, and trying to work out what is or is not good for the server, what can and can not be put into the mod, and whether the changes can be fairly enforced.

Some of the none mod based changes have already been implemented, e.g. the RP channel, and the new death messages and Rampage etc. messages.

FYI... 2112 mod was released a year after it was initially supposed to come out, once again which is why we don't give release dates until the release is ready. There are alot of man hours of work to go into it, and not many men to do the work.

Besides strail and vector colored nicknames are also:fracture,watchwolf,elessar,clavat,ruggles,tiods,luckyluke

All modders have lightblue nicknames,all writers have yellow nicknames,all faq have orange nicknames,all events have teal nicknames.
Voids used to have green nicknames and it's good to see that it was changed (due to Core Reforms Team only)


So let's take the situation like you said in wich only Strail and Vector would be the only ones having colored nicknames.That still would be to much in my opinion.

This should be discussed here in the public forum instead of an admin lounge.
Same happened to the Core Reform Team,we also got a private lounge wich could not be viewed by any other void memebr of the community.

Instead of hiding and talking behind others back, public posts should be made and also add polls to see what the majority community vote looks like.
To avoid abuse you can add an option wich only allows 6 month old+ user to cast a vote.
These discussions you're having only delay the mod.What happens if one of you goes on a holiday for a couple of weeks or month?
Admins should only discuss personal and cheating issues in their lounges but when it comes to mod issues all of the community members should have a say about it.

@ Burn: Well, from what I've seen here, the Void's management has always been quite conservative, and openness hasn't been a strong forte of the Void. It's how things are. If you'd want to see any changes related to that, making specific suggestions and maybe putting up a poll about them would be the way to go, instead of just going on about how things are not open here.

For the record, I'd be in favor of some more openness too. In my opinion, it would be good if the different teams could see what the others are up to and if the public could see some of that too. Opening up the forums for public discussion, on the other hand, would be a bad idea: you could soon say goodbye to intelligent discussion there. However, opening up some parts for public viewing (not posting!) might be a good idea, in my opinion.
The thing is, that would require a number of changes to the site, and from what I heard, Strail and Vector are working on a complete overhaul, so don't expect any major changes before that happens.

Also, don't forget that the majority of development discussions and such happens in chat. You'll notice that Verminard also said that the a/v team is holding regular meetings about the CRT's proposed changes, which means that discussion about that isn't going on on the forums either.

There were no release dates for the mod published. After all, there are only a few of us who work on the mod, and if one person’s out for a time for whatever reason (real life comes first, after all), things get delayed considerably. For example, if we had twenty people working on coding (= pipe dream :P), one person going inactive for a time wouldn’t have much of an impact on the schedule. We have two, so it does.
If there will be a specific, announced release date and if we’ll miss it, then you can start complaining about that... oh wait, we’re doing this for free :P

Oh, and Strail has also said that they're not waiting around for the mod to get released to go ahead with any server-related changes, so your point in quoting that earlier comment of his is quite moot. When things will be completed, you will be seeing them: nobody's sitting on what they're doing to just wait about for others.
