Reputation with a NPC.
I have a question. Several times I lost neutral reputation with the nomads, just because I was in a group with a player who is hostile to them. At the moment when the player meets the nomads, my reputation with them is immediately hostile.
I don't know if it's a bug or not, and also don't know if it's just my problem or general, but if I don't want to shoot 100 more useless npc again, I can not be in group with anyone.

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
If you group with someone who is hostile to a faction you will also become hostile to the faction..

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
Then its pointless to spend serveral hours of npc killing just to make all factions neutral
.
Am I right when I am saying, that joining a group with player who has got some faction green or neutral do not make you green or neutral with corresponding faction ?

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
Did that player take a mission against the Nomads or did you two just meet a patrol of Nomads in space? At the moment when the player meets the nomads, my reputation with them is immediately hostile.
For example if you group up with a player and he takes missions against Nomads.
You can basically be away from keyboard while he does the mission killing Nomads.
After he completes the mission the money will be split in two and your reputation will change towards Nomads even though you were afk and did not participate in the fight.
I'm not sure about this.If i am fully friendly with Nomads and group up with someone who is fully hostile with Nomads i can't see how the reputation can change. If you group with someone who is hostile to a faction you will also become hostile to the faction.
Even if we meet with Nomads in space (not in a mission against Nomads) i still should be fully friendly with them and my groupmate hostile.(i should still see them as green-friendly npc)
However the situation completly changes if one of the groupmembers takes a mission against the Nomads and then you two meet the Nomads in space at the Mission Waypoint.
In that situation you will be hostile to the Nomads (becasue you're on a mission against them) even though your reputation is fully green with them.

Nor am I, I've never heard of this, and I've grouped plenty of times with people who had different reps to me and it's not affected them at all. I have, however, experienced several times a neutral faction (on player status) has suddenly decided they want me dead. Nomads are the main culprit. Never found out what causes it.

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
Example: You are hostile to Liberty Rogues, and lightly neutral to Lane Hackers. These 2 factions are allied. You want to dock with Mactan Base. When no LR is around you can dock since you are neutral to LH, but when a LR appears the LH turns hostile, becouse the alliegance - the enemy of my friend is my enemy. This happens only till you get more friendly with the mentioned LH.

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
Sorry my mistake i thought that he meant when he was grouped with them he was flying in formation in the same vicinity when the hostile appeared.
This is a different matter...
My Apologies...

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
Asmo recently we talked about it and you are right. Just my reputation is changed permanently, not for a moment in a system and no matter where I'm, I lose my reputation anywhere.
Burn no, it has nothing to do with missions, I'm just in a group with a player which is hostile to the Nomads, it may be a trader in Alex for example.
And I don't know why and when.

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
The common problem with this is if you are in a group and the other member or members decide to take missions against a said faction
No matter what system you are in you are part of that mission. It is always best to un-group before they take the mission.

Yes, I'm new on the Void and I play the Freelancer game for almost a month, so most of your advice is very helpful. :aua:

Re: Reputation with a NPC.
I lost the reputation two days ago, once in 2115 and several times in earlier mods.
Burn your question is correct I think, coz I had a suspicion that it has something to do with it, with "how close it is to the border neutral/hostile."
Green or neutral reputation in the middle of this .. strip? is stable I think and in some mods I had to have such a stable reputation, but in some mods reputation close to neutral/hostile was far enough and stable too.
