Freelancer and Windows 7

Post by Wardoo »

hi pirates and pilots!

Well today i buy Windows 7 pro...freshly!

After i update the system (every possible updates) i install freelancer...no compatibility problems;
This is the first good point. i run without mods...No problems.
the firewall just want to allow the software.

In second time i install mod manager 1.31 and surprise...No compatibility problems..Second good point.
i install some mods and i play...Third good point..No problems.
with void mod
-rebalance mod
-discovery
shrouded world
Hc client
big daddy mod etc....

Few months ago i try with vista...every time there's compatibility problems with the game and the mod manager...i try to run in Xp mode... the same.

and now with seven i have a better resolution= 1280x960
before it's lowest.
big up to microsoft for the new 7 all my softwares run without problems..winamp too!!!

See ya in space!!

@ Asmo: if you wanna make an informed decision, look up the new features on Windows 7. Do you see anything there that you would really like to have, and that would make the upgrade worth it? If so, then go buy it! If not, then take a look at the benchmarks done by 3rd party sites. You'll see that Win7 has a substantial performance boost over Vista, but it's not quite dramatic when compared to WinXP. If you think that's still worth the money, then go buy it! Otherwise, just wait until it gets better, or when a software (or some softwares) comes out that runs on Windows 7 only, and one that you want to use.

I did the same when Windows XP came out, and waiting it out worked well for me :P By SP2, the OS did work quite well.

ahhhhhhhhh Windows 7 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm Been running it on both my PC the last year now and I have to say: I love it, I hate vista (as most people do :P ) and this was a happy thing for MS to do. (btw max RAM specs for 64 bit W7 is 192gb now you can ask why would anyone want or even have that? BECAUSE I CAN :P )

Windows 7 has been working perfectly since build 7000 (with a samll exception in the 7010 build where Flash tended to crash the PC) and when 7100 (RC) came I Loved it (hel even a certain Linux fanatic I know tells me he likes it .P )
I would love to keep in touch with people from the Void if you ever transfer onto other games. Feel free to contact me one:

I've been running Windows 7 since the Beta and I have to say its the best operating system I've run. The stability compared to Vista is insane!

Running the Ultimate 64bit Version and Ill never go back, its a dream Operating system. Ill be recommending it to all my friends/family, it is just THAT good.

For anyone with a few issues installing FL mods make sure to turn off UAC entirely and not just run it as admin. Before i set UAC off it would install fine but wouldn't change specific files in my FL folder resulting in the mod not running correctly if at all.

Windows 7 - The greatest :D

Ye it's  pretty awesome with windows 7 , but try to play a GTA IV (wooooo) , or try to play Freelancer with the latest ENBSeries (wooooooo) , or even better , Milkshape 3d won't run on Windows 7 X( . Now does anyone have a pack with ships in a 3dsmax-2010 compatible format because i want to work on a Void Mod trailer (for fun)
