Well I did it.


I uninstalled Disco and loaded up VOID.  I flew about the home systems and done some trading. A few hours here and there and I will get back into a fighter and get going again.

BUT, when I first jumped ingame there was a 4S player called KISS in nomad1. So considering there is only me and him I decided to say hi in system chat to be friendly........No reply.  Well I thought he might be afk and maybe he just left his fighter docked. A few minutes later I notice him logging off. I really hope he didnt notice me and wasnt just ignoring me, because in this dire time of need of players it wasnt exactly a great example to a new player. ( i was logged in as my trader /smuggler Gabriel Logan).

Then when I was taking a loo break ,I came back to find that an ORION had logged on and had then left. Without any greeting etc.

Surely if this place is to be seen as friendly and inviting for players would it really hurt to shout hello to the only other guy on the whole server.

I might be on the wrong track here, but I just think more of an effort is needed, if any of us logg on and see another player taking the time to fly here. Even if he is a returning player or especially if he is a new player we should be saying hello. You never know it could all the difference and it certainly wouldnt hurt to try.

Anyways, I will be on again tonight for a couple of hours, I have next to no cash so dont expect to pvp me, unless you want your ass handed to you by my Rhino.

Just wanted to say cheers to everybody I spoke with on Tuesday night. It genuinely gives me hope. It was a blast flying through the home systems again with some old familiar names.



Hopefully I will be setup on Thursday night, now that I have made some cash from trading.

Hi blaster, the name is familiar but it must have been a long time ago. I had a char called OUTLAW and another which I used more called Voodoo around the time you were here i think.

Don't leave mate, try in game around 7pm to about 9 or 10 pm UK time.  There were about 13 of us on.  I know its not that much but it is a start.

Hi Rambeau, if its the Box at the start after you install Freelancer just tick the Continue anyway box.
As most people get that because it an old game and does not recognize the graphic card.

Thanks Asmodeus. I did. The game dumps me to desk top. I'm thinking its something with my avast antivirus. If I remember right, after I got that my game stoped working.

Ha yep Avast does not work with freelancer. I use Avira free with no problems. (works with XP, Vista and windows 7)
You will need to completely uninstall Avast as it can leave some stuff in the back ground.

Hi everyone, long time wasnt here. Just wanted to say about Avast thing, it Does work with FL, atleast for me, im using it for 2 years+ and never had problems with avast + freelancer.  
BTW i would love to fly on void once again, but i just lost interest of it because of char wipe ... if i still had my old ship i think i still would be flying around

Hi -=Blade=-, yes it works ok with xp but seams to have problems with Vista and Windows 7.

im using W7 for very long time now and it always worked perfect with FL + Avast maybe he must just try reinstalll game, mod and flmm and see then  :-?  :)

Same here mate almost 2 years Avast + windows 7 and never had any problem with freelancer or any other game.
