Well stated Bab.
@Trav - thanks for the reminder mate.
@madderz - easy up a bit there dude... No one is having a pop at a group that have decided to go on the offensive -thats what -=REAVERS=- were designed to do and despite some of our RL setbacks I happen to think we have done rather well at it gauging the sys chats that we have all witnessed.
The issue here is regarding the use of the [R] tag and as you have expressed you dont feel it makes a difference - your going to shoot at it whatever happens. I would expect nothing less from a -=REAVERS=- player. Rock on!
What is funny is that as Babecia pointed out Entropy introduced the R tag as a challenge to get others involved in the PvP. DTA were asked to have R tags cos of their indiscriminent killing - and then they were asked to remove them as it was pointed out that Rogues are not supposed to move in groups / clans / bands or whatever you are supposed to call them. You cant have RP for tags and then ignore it - it becomes pointless, as Eagle One pointed out. You might as well call yourself Yellow Jellyfish [Z] for all the difference it will make.
What I find funny is that this group are taking on EXACTLY what -=REAVERS=- were set up to do and they are doing it "with a twist" (R tags and only certain kinds of ship) - not sure what sort of point is trying to be made here, but if it continues we can pretty much kiss goodbye to any RP. The Philosphy behind our tactics was simple - if it moves, shoot it - if it doesnt move shoot it anyway - and you shoot at what you want when you want to (providing its above level 20 and within the server rules). - I looked at what SYNDICATE were doing, what ECLIPSE were doing and what the DTA did. Taking the best from all three I had tried to come up with an idea that would attract those keen to keep some fear in the Sirius systems rather than have everyone die of boredom.
If this is what is being attempted then so be it. BUT you choose to do this, so you take on board any of the "moans" that are leveled at you and Swallow Them - I dont want endless flames about "he said she said he did she did yes I did no you didnt...." and so on. Keep it civil. Keep it clean - and SCREAM ON.

Half of the people in this post don't even play the game on a daily bases and for i care im just going to let my guns do the talking since thats what they are for.....
Now lets stop crying about it i don't wanna see any moans but lets see how it goes. if it's a pain in the a.. then we can stop. but if it isn't.......then why not have a little server war because it's pritty much GOOD VS EVIL so lets give it a chance. HAVE SOME FUN FOR ONCE instead of moaning threw our A$...

Like Babieca said, flying and fighting with R tag in group is simply illogical. R tag shoudn't be a license to kill only. It should be a pretty rare way to play this awesome game. The truth is, half of the server uses this tag, but even half of them don't know how to do it correctly. Same with X tag, because being a pirate isn't equal to sitting in two systems max, and waiting for players passing by. RP is dead because some of us are too lazy to stick to it all the time.

The [R] is there to make you happy.
Don't you rather see that someone's got an [R] tag warning you to get out or shoot?
Maybe I'll just pick a random name and start killing everyone. Lets see how that'll help anyone.
PERIOD

ROFL at Ripper* - Isnt that what folk were doing before anyways? I know Ive had it happen to me! R or not to R? Who gives a monkeys. You shoot - you die - You shoot back, you might live. At least the R tag gives others a warning - believe me if it were allowed I would have the [R] tag painted all over the -=REAVERS=- it would save having to type all those freekin' messages explaining why I just shot someones back end off....! (cos Im nice like that you see?) But - the "rules" state that clans cant have [R] tags and if I am going to uphold the rules I have to abide by them. Such is the sad life of a VOID Guardian (everyone say "aaawwwwwwwwwwwww")
Rogue RP - as Ripper stated - was placed here to give you something to chase. Thats why they were excellent players acting alone - the Lone Gun. Its not easy, cos you were hunted down by the Navy and shot like a sick horse if they caught you..! Or if you were realy good you could turn the tables on them and send the lawmen running for their lives.... <):)
@madderz - sit back mate and watch it happen. And thanks for listening :D

It is? Man I must have missed the boat on that one... ;)

Don't do this m8. Then you wind up in the same predicament that Sythe was in... remember? :-<

Um, just my $.02
It seems to me that this was destined to become a flame fest. Everyone knows that [R]ogues can't be in a clan and yet ya'll made a 2015 'group' and tagged yourselves [R] and just about dared anyone to complain. Clan, Group, it's a fine line... if it quacks like a duck...
All this could have been avoided by simply declaring that 2015's are a group that acts like Rouges in the same way that -=REAVERS=- act like Rogues, and all 3 tags should be considered the same KOS in-game. I understand what -=REAVERS=- are just fine and I would have understood 2015 too but a clan-ish tag paired with [R] tag is just bound to cause RP'ers to object.
Instead now RP gets another controversy, as if it needed another.

.... i dont get the point why rogues should be alone. the Liberty rogues are a big bunch of rogues and they dont attack eachother.(i kno, there NPC but still) if rogues wanna be a group then make one big group and dont make random groups. i think it would be much clearer to the new guys if all rogues were tagged [RV] instead of just R. [RV]= Rogues of the Void. then no more moaning about there in a clan or anything else. and if you dont want to be in that big group then just make [R] and nothing else. rogues dont kill rogues. there ''brothers'' so why kill themselves?

type rogue definition in google and read the entries. The word that pops up time and time again is SOLITARY. It seems to me that this rogue thing is more about ego than anything else. For those who want to kill anyone any time they want to exhibit their prowess. And now that its become a thing of numbers, as oposed to the 1v1 solitary duel style of fighting, they seek the ability to congress.
This is a space game. If you're going to make any pretence of playing in the spirit of the game then expect, no matter how 'leet' you are, to get your buts handed to you. Expecting to be able to make things fit the way you want them is going to infringe on other peoples gameplay, for those who have picked an rp and play it as its supposed to be played, and more than likely incur a hostile response.
For those who have decided to take part in the 2015 movement, fair play for actualy trying something new. But, as I witnessed last night, the rogues flying as a clan thing aint gunna work. Why could you not just announce that you were forming a group and intended to play an evil rp? People would still be aware.
For those wanting to take a trip down memory lane back to the halcion days of the Void, perhaps those who were there should create a 104 group because, believe me, things were a lot bloodier and bitter back then. Wars were fought to a conclusion and rules became meerly guidelines.
Sorry for ranting ;)

A rant that was
not Trav.
I suggest that everyone read the post above this one as many times as needed to remind themselves
about playing this game or any other game with some sportsmanlike spirit.
The last sentence is especially keen.
Wars were fought to a conclusion and rules became meerly guidelines.
Well put.

I don't see the big issue in having some Rogue clans; the Rogue definition is really "solitaireness", but there can be some rogues that do agree on equal ideals. "I like killing everyone, stealing loot, selling it, and doing it all over again" - "hey, I like that too, why don't we team up and kill 2x as much?!".
Imagine the group fights that would generate. And that would not be such a bad thing, as it would increase the RolePlay element in the server. "Quick, the [R]ogues are joining in Alexandria, let's go guys!" - "Let's get'em!".
Such gang like behavior is natural and can be seen in nature (as in animal groups, to increase chances of survival) and human societies - gang wars, neighbourhoods, etc.
There will always be Grouped Navy guys, Grouped Rogues, and loner guys of both types. It's a matter of choice and thank god not everyone will have the same.
Hugs and kisses.

Maybe a player dont see big issue in taxing without having X tag. Maybe one player thinks , why only pirates can tax?
Maybe another player dont see a big issue in killing under 20 rank ppl, meybe he thinks, what a stupid rule
If the rule is wrong change it, but till that you must follow it. And rules are for EVERYBODY

A voice from the grave...
The Rouge tags have most of the time been used as poor excuses- because if you shoot someone, you can claim "hey, its just my RP". And hope you avoid consequences. Saints in my active time *NEVER* had the need for such a silly toy- and i think no evil clan worth its salt should have.
CHeers!
