Not a problem Dodger m8. The great thing about being able to post your issues on a public forum like this is that there's a good chance several people will have an answer to your problem. Thanks for responding anyway. It's a good thing there are many hear who really know their computer stuff - me not included lol.

P.S.: Where did your avatar go m8? Hung it over your bed in one of those digital frames?  :P Man I loved that one...

Erm, actually that might have something to do with it Ghosty m8. It came with a magazine and I had to pay just 200 bucks for it. Might say a thing or two about the quality lmao.

Well I got a message that it may not be good for the younger generation without Strail's approval and I have not had the chance to ask.

I did want to ask what icons you were hiding under the blue bars the the upper left corners of the desktop.

thread degenerates into spam, XD

if you want to reformat maverik i can point you in the directiion of a downloadable windows XP/media center/visa boot disk and then when you reformat your hard drive is empty and theres an option boot from CD and windows XP will be reinstalled and yu wont have said virus anymore

alternatively that shutdown -a is a legend at this type of thing

@Dodger: Erm, why did you think I edited that?  :P  :D Just some private stuff m8. Let's keep it at that.

@Mad_Mikey: I have been told I have an Acer, which seems to have some kind of recovery program somewhere. So I might not need the disk. Though I hope it never comes to that anyway...

The freaking thing is back. I tried a complete scan using AVG free edition, CCleaner, no result so far.
Some info: I have a Pentium 4 2.8ghz HT, 2.56 Gig of RAM, Nvidia 6200 GCard, and am running Windows XP SP2.

Anyone any suggestions?

Again the error message says something about an error in the 'Generic Host Process for Win' and the second one says that 'WindowsNT/AUTHORITY will reboot the computer in 60 secs and counting.

I thought I was the authority on this computer. Guess I was wrong... Please help someone.
