cept for: can I steal them and use them as wallpapers?
As for my work, feel absolutely free to use them any way you want m8. In the end I make these things for others to enjoy. :)
oh and commenting the piece it self, it looks awesome!!, did you use Terragen on the terrain?
Thanks m8! And no, tbh I can't say I ever heard of that Terragen program... but now you got me curious. ;)
The mountains are a cut-out of something I grabbed from the web + editing. The rest is hand-made. I have worked with both Photoshop and GIMP, but have come to prefer GIMP over PS. It's in no way less capable than PS.

Terragen is a number value based terrain rendering program, different values affect the final render and it's looks, like how flat  mountainous it is...google Terragen out, there's some pretty cool stuff i've seen people doing with it :)

No problems, i've had heaps of fun with it in the past :) requires a lot of ram for rendering though:D

@ Sadman,  it's looking good, i like what i see already :) you could develop it further with adding stars to the areas that are now completely black, there's a nice starfield tutorial in here:

http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts ... field.html

i consider Greg Martin to be _the_ Space Art God, have drawn all my inspiration from him. scroll down the introducing text and you start seeing pictures, and guide of how he does it.

Good luck  :)

The more i stare at it myself, the more i think that it could be the artistic depiction of Omicron Delta, Although with looooads of artistic freedom.
