I think this is a bad idea. Why do we need to publicly announce who is the winner of a void popularity contest, because thats all its going to be.
We all have our individual opinions of who we think is the best admin / pvp-er / forum contributor etc, so why cant we leave it at that?

I think my vote is clear.

I agree with Shikaku...I don't think it's a good Idea because yes...It would turn out to be a big popularity contest, and then there would be battles on who the winner is and it would end up being nothing but trouble for the admins and everyone involved...and plus, the winner of catagories would do nothing but brag and then someone would do something that they know that they shouldn't and I just don't think that it would work out at all...but that's just my opinion...looks like everyone else thinks that it's a great idea...I just see it as a mess!

it seams some people missed the point, the hall of fame is not to say who is the best at this or that, it is a place to recognise those people who have given a lot back to the server.

i'e Entropy I think should be inducted. NOT for being good at PvP, but because he has been here a long time and has furthered the server with his ideas for roleplay, i.e Ironman, and Rougue characters.

Maybe anyone that has played on the server for more than a yrar should automatically quallify for hall of fame.

i.e Becker should be inducted for his PvP guides, and general efforts to bring pirates to the server. (yes i know Ent helped but i already gave reasons for his entry above).

i.e (again) Firefox, because if it wasnt for him we would not have an event team.

I could go on and on. The Hall Of Fame is not a popularity contest. It is about a reward and recognisation of those who have done a lot for the server and community, even if its only to have wasted a big chunk of their life here. It is not about who is best at what.

The idea is just like the Hall of Fame in NFL or NHL, or at least that is what i intended, but i forgot about the Huge Egos that people have and couyld see how it could turn ugly.

Still no Admins oppinions on this one.

I also do think that your idea is a sympathic one
It is good that initiative is rewarded - on this server as in real life.
I m thinking about e.g.:
- green killer and his clan list, which will help the new comer to orientiate himself easier.
- Entropy and (I know you already said it), his multiple ideas of game within the game.
... and others which I will not list here (that could be the longest post of the void then :p)

Such ppl. are needed for the life to be better or more fun.

It s a good idea to thank them at least that way.
