Help newbie players

When I first joined Void I was advised and helped financially by many players. Too many and a bad memory to remember them – but many thanks to them all.

It was one of the things that made me stay and check the place out a bit more, in time join a clan and like many others here view the void with great affection. A second home almost, where you can come and be with friends.

I have played on many servers and been slaughtered within a few minutes of joining. It does put you off that server a little. The friendliness here is one of the things that make this server the best.

Long live the help for the new lad or lass.

EXXIT's original idea was to make it a rule. The idea intriguged me, but I then thought, is it really neccasary to make it a rule? Are there not already players that do that sort of thing? I posted this poll to see if my thoughts were true. I am pleased to see that they are.

Helping new players......no.
It's not going to happen with me. I would want them to work for their char, I did and with no help at all. I never had my pirate char til I got enought money to add cash to it, I've never did trading routes. Missions only.
I find it very dumb to spend 20 mill on a player who is just asking and saying "I am new, help me by giving me money.".
I am not saying don't give them help if they got a question about the server or mod or if they are lost........but giving them money....well your going to make them feel like they owe you something.
I find it really sad when some old player of the server goes around and gives them millions.
MY question to you.......WTF, then whats the point of making this game hard if everything is going to be given to you. That's what I like about the game.....nothing is given, it;s like real life, you got to work for your wants and needs and to live. You can be anything you want, pick what job you want. Trader, Navy ,Pirate , Freelancer!
My vote is going to NO, let them sweat for their ship and weapons.

I for a long time donated cash to new players which in total comes to around 5-600mil
Out of mebbe the 50 or so that I have helped I know of maybe 3-4 who still play.
I personally will only lend money now to people I have seen regulary.
However, I will when I have time show newbies where to get there guns and ships
and of course tell them any trade routes that they may need.

I do wonder now why people give away money so easily, I myself had to earn my money
through trading and NPC missions and these were some of the best times on the server.

When you recieve everything for free it leaves you with less goals,
and you just join other people sitting on rocks staring at sparta shield.

I have never given a noob money, but I have played for 8 hour straight doing mission with and helping then upgrade one time until they had enough money to get a really good ship. I think you shouldnt give money away but help them in any other way you can knowledge can better than $$$. I still remember vary clearly what its like undocking for the first time and seeing a lvl 90 with all of the best weps and equip and thinking "i want to have a ship like like that." and i worked to get it and didnt have it handed to me and i wouldnt have had it any other way.

Alright, I said HELP, not give money. I meant any help at all. Not just money. Advice, directions, help with missions. That was my primary thought for this poll.
