Freelancer - The Void

This link is to Steam, here they have a list of hardware used by gamers that play the Steam powered games.
Its probably one of the biggest survey results for "gamers" publically available, so check your specs and see how they stack up.
I'm sort of of the opinion that unless your a hard core gamer, your going to get depressed with the gear these results show compared to your own pc spec.

Either way, its an interesting read/list and it gives you a benchmark against other Steam gamer pc's

I wont bother - as I am not "hardcore" - (I always thought that was something you put down before you laid concrete....) and my PC is out of a box standard 5 years old and needs to heat up before it works lol  ;)

I see that thing a lot, and to be honest it demonstrates how idiotic computer games programmers really are when they always make their games for the latest greatest hardware when it's obvious most people are somewhere in the middle (and these are the people you should be wooing since they're the majority)

It's reason one in a huge list of reason why PC gaming is on it's last legs (it's not dead yet, but doesn't have long), after all only the most mental of people want to spend £500 + every six months just to keep up when you can buy a console for £200 and get 5 years out of it (and the first 3 of those 5 years will include games that PC's simply can't handle properly even if you spec them up).

i have to agree with Kahless my computer has more hard drive and ram than all the nasa computers put togeather, at the time of the first moon launch. and even with a new graffics card i still cant run some of the new games. seems alittle crazy to design games that every joe out there cant run. i would think as a buisness they would want to sell as many games as possible to make money, at least that is the point of a buisness. but instead they come out with games that can only run on computers that are the equal to the super sports cars of the computer world. seems to me they are cutting their own noise off to impress other with their game. its like " we are so cool look at our new game, now only 5 people in the world can run it but hey its cool"    8-|

well just my 2p worth, i do very well indeed on them lists as does chaos, BUT as most of you have said there are games out there which i have 1 or 2 of that 1 still cant play at full settings.

on topic: well...its not fair lol...like if i wanna play a little LAN and invite some friends with the comps half of the games i can run 2 of them cant run...

i agree with kahless 100% - they care for doing latest and greatest games which need very High end pcs while not everybody have that standard of effeciency PCs.

I have as Zero Puncuation would have described it: A futuristik super computer from outer space, I can even run Crysis on top quality

My melting laptop does ok... with 2003 games on full settings. That's all I need, really, sometimes I even find myself connecting my old NES.. retrogaming ftw.

u have a commodore? its definitly, except from the ps2 ofcourse, the best F****** console ever!
