New player, old fart to Freelancer

I remember playing this game many years ago when it was first released. After that I pretty much abandoned it. Recently I've been playing X3 Reunion/Terran Conflict. But what these games lack, is a good multiplayer, so I am hoping to find that within Void.
I'm a pretty casual gamer, just looking to find his own place among the stars of Void, exploring the sights as I go.
