Hello Void Community!

Greetings from Matti / Admin-Elessar for old dogs and new players alike!

After several comebacks, and absence due to real life issues, i have finally decided to come back for good. for starters i would appreciate the community to write a word or two for this post, nothing particular, just mapping how active the community still is:)

I am mainly interested in a "Kickstart" of the Server - Community and in some case the "grudges and fights of old" (in an RP sense) to spice up the space again!, now i heard, that we haven't got the best time possible, due to mod being reverted backwards and all, and i am not aware of the most issues just yet, as i have just re-emerged, but i would want to believe the community and the server would be once more a good place to come back to.

The main thing i would like to enquire:

how is the status of the [EVENT]-Team at the moment? (yes i know it is very quiet at the moment, but if someone of you are still out there, we could do something larger now that i am back) All i need is a solid group of supportive players to back my crazy plans up to engulf Sirius sector in an epic scale of conflict once more!

to close up my post, i will say that i remember how the server began, how it has lived, how we have had our days of glory, of friendships, of good spirits, and inevitably, of grievances due to them being unavoidable when there has been much interaction envolved with eachother...i believe that with a bit of effort, we could be a community once again, and thus i believe that an old game such as Freelancer, and our server the Void, will need Content to be played. Now, i am here to deliver that content in an RP event sense, (those of you who remember the Coalition vs. Alliance) war-event will have a some sense of what will be expected if the playerbase so wants and the [EVENT] team will back it up. I don't have plans for exact replication, but i got some aces on my sleeve.

"A game server is only as strong as the community behind it" with this in mind...what do you guys think? drop a post and at least say hello for the Big E, if nothing else:)

SCREAM ON!

I think this sounds like a lot of fun and I am sure many (new) players think the same way about this. I hope to see a lot of action from/of you out there :)

For the actual issues I would recommend to read the post made by Asmodeus, http://www.voidserver.com/modules.php?n ... ic&t=24717 and ignore all the opinions and stuff. Just looking at the facts and points that are pointed out by people I think you can get quitte a good image of the things people would like to see changed, and which things bother people. As well as what people do like I guess :)

Meet you in space!

Thank you for the reply:), i am here for the fun in mind, but i can't do it alone!

Maybe i should bring up my old time friend Smuggler... the Deep-Space-Trader, heehee, i heard he's back in hauling some contrabands and arrogantly showing a long nose for the security forces! There's a bounty on his head too!!!

Yeah, winter in Finland is almost over and the bears get up. But polar bears may not sleep in your winter, right?
Welcome back.  :)

It is important to create a playable mod, this is temporary - ok, but too long.
This is the main problem I think.
The community has gone a little bit, not completely, but many are .... a little annoyed and sad.
Any good player counts, it is good that you came back El.

Hey Richi!

Yeah we're getting up slow and steady here, first days in months we have less than -20c, topped -41c this winter so yeah..:P

I'm trying to start being actively online when i am at home, that's from 15pm gmt+2 -> onwards, as i am attending courses.

EDIT: trying to get a remote install of Windows 7 using a network boot, with WDS (Windows Deployment Services) to work here but it's not going too well, i just don't get it :)

Hi Elessar, good thing you came back m8. Although I'm not playing here anymore myself, I would like to say 'hi' and wish you the best of luck with your devious plans. ;)

Take care m8.

Thank you for the replies, can tell you're still following the forums though:)

I will do what i can, and in time, we will see if it bears any fruit or will it wither like the autumn leaves to a chilly breeze.

Hi there as part of event team last info from strail was that he will contact as " old event members" to see who is still in or out. Since than I didn't receive any pm or something. I did couple events (asmo helps me with it) but with out sys.chat I can't do them independently. I am open for any further work as a part of the team because alone I can't do nothing.

I'm new. I am currently unemployed, except for being a house husband, but spend a fair amount of time gaming.

I haven't experienced any VOID server events, so I don't know what they are. However, I'd like to play the game more with other real people. I wouldn't mind helping out. I'm just not very experienced though.
