About accusing others on open forum /system chat

If you suspect someone of cheating, why not simply PM an admin about it?

Acusing someone of cheating on open forum (or even system chat), im my opinion, is simply harrasment, and we´re seing to much of that, these days, and it leads to suspiction and bad feelings and, quite frankly, is really annoying....

So tell, me what you think....

well we do have rules that forbidden player harrasment/insulting...and in this case, players should not be accusing others for cheating if they do not have the proof (for example if the other player is much better in PvP than the other one, it does not necessarily make him cheater)

All kind of player insulting/ harrasment and swearing are forbidden on the server

I agree with Elessar, I think the current rule covers it.
I also think that if people would just treat others as they
would like people to treat them, then this whole issue should
not ever even be a problem.

May I say Johny that I agree with you in part but as has been said previously, the current rules cover this.

Since the war with the colours, it seems that there has been a marked increase in people saying this or that about someone and rarely in pleasant terms.

I love this forum and the server, it is a part of my life, at times my work schedule is mental and I find that I’m up and about at all sorts of weird times, the Void is somewhere I can come to relax and have fun, meet friends and get blown up.

There are many of you here that I view with a great deal of affection and you mean more to me than just some name on a computer screen. Some of those people are involved in this and I find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I have no wish in any way to take sides, roleplay fights and forum tussles are fine, but my friends things are really getting very personal. There are a number of us here that believe that things will get worse before this eventually dies down. I truly hope not.

As we all know there is a system in place that deals with the kinds of accusations that have been cast around recently. Gather your proof and pass it on to the powers that be, if your accusations are founded then the appropriate action will be taken.

I have no idea the regard any of you hold for me or the words I write, but I will say this in closing. Please from the bottom of my heart I ask you to stop these personal attacks against one another.

This place is somewhere many of us call a second home and like all families things will arise that need to be addressed, but the more personal the problem the more private the conversation should be. Sorry for the soppy tone of this but it’s the way I’m feeling right now.

well said Bear, but even some of the ,most respected people on Void cheat, you know who i mean, and i HAVE THE SCREENSHOT TO PROOVE IT. EVEN SOME WHO APPEAR TO BE THE BEST. You know who i'm talking abotu. i had ultimate respect for this guy, he was even a GUARD, but he still got kicked and banned automatically by server. I'm looking forward to seeing the excuses

And, yes, you people are right, it is covered on the rules, but tell me, how many times have you seen someone being punished for acusing others of cheating?

Sorry Pres, this is why i never accuse any1 of cheating, but i get sick of sitting of the sidelines saying nothing, only to see one of the players i respect the most, and have always defended, getting not only kicked, but banned. I just hope he was testing the system at the time.... but......

When I have the rare good fortune of adding that thing known

I would like to think that I word myself as well as Kodiak.

What he happened to say here in his last post
echos my feeling extremely well.

Playing Freelancer on the Void has become more then
just a web forum and a game to me.
As such, I treat it with the care that one would treat
anything of value.

I don't want to see it crumble.
I don't want to see it wane.
I don't want to see indiference.
I don't want to see it fade.

I held off on voting as well.

The recent auto-bans do seem to be almost completly
due to Anti-Cheat software testing.
No stones shall be thrown from this camp.

I for one am F******g fed up of people accusing me of cheating, and my friends simply coz they cannot fight as well.

When I pointed out a speed modder the other day, I was asked by a BBB how I knew this guy was speed modding, before I can answer he remarks: "oh, you would know wouldn't you"
