It can be extension of your gameplay, lets call it "a fun multiplier factor X"
Clan relations, diplomacy, gameplay information etc. - all the things which can lead to many great fights,
funny arguments, or just plain and simple good time online while having a chat with your mortal enemy. :-? :D
Point is, and will always be - plain and simple fun.
Yes, there is a downside - sometimes all posts and even RP can take a wrong direction and turn into flames,
but a little reason and consideration from both sides are usually enough to end it. (atleast in most cases :-@ )
Or you can make it just a guideline for your gameplay - choice is yours.
And thats another point - choises you make
