As one of the VOID team I would like to add my twopence worth and given that my mob, the infamous -=REAVERS=- are kind of in the same boat I feel that I have something of worth to add to this prickly subject.

1st off whoever said you would be banned for shooting at legitimate targets is WRONG. I will raise this subject in the VOID Guardian forums.  Why is it wrong? ok:  Its a Shooter Server for a start. As long as you don't kill anyone under level 20, dont harrass other players unecessarily, dont bad mouth or use foul language, taunt or bully other players then its pretty much a free for all.  Tags give you a better idea as to what people are doing.  A freelancer with no clan affliliations or tags, with in the rules, can operate pretty much how he wishes.  The risk he takes if he starts being a Rogue (not a Rouge - thats something quite different!) without a tag, is that he will get pretty much hammered by the other players.  

It is polite to wear a tag.  Either a clan tag or an indication as to what you are about. I treat all untagged players with an equal amount of suspicion and when I am in my -=REAVERS=- mode, if it moves I will shoot at it  - When I Feel Like It.  

Lets be clear here.  Eclipse are a Nomad Clan.  Do Nomad NPC's ask first before shooting? No they dont.  Do Nomads shoot at the rest of the "humans" in VOID? Yes they do.  If you see an Eclipse player you should be aware that just like the -=REAVERS=- there is a very strong possibility that you will be attacked.

For a server guard to suggest that you would be banned for using and living by your own RP that is quite clearly stated in you clan information is wrong.  I appreciate the sentiment that this comes under but the particular guard in question is mistaken.  

HOWEVER:  just to be clear - if the attacks in question were "overkill" (which surpirses me if its the case cos as far as I know you have never pushed it that far with me -even when I was on the wrong side of your guns) then the threat of a ban is quite proper.  

If we were to apply the server guards suggestion to Kumori, then you would have to ban the entire -=REAVERS=- clan including me.  We do NOT carry an [R] tag because just like Eclipse we are NOT rogues.  It doesnt take a great deal of intelligence to read the RP specifications for either of these clans and see that whilst they are ruthless and will pretty much shoot on sight, they are not Rogues.  You cant have a Rogue clan.  Rogues fly independant of each other and will join with certain causes as and when they see fit to do so.

I took the idea of the -=REAVERS=- Silence Rule from the excellent RP that Eclipse have operated here, I suspect long before the server guard became a server guard.
This is a message to EVERYONE on the VOID - Read Up on your CLANS - Ignorance is no excuse. Don't go whining to whatever pet VOID Guardian you feel you own in order to execute revenge.  In defence of said guardian - We are Human and we dont always get it right.  All we ask is that you be patient with us, because this can be a thankless job - everyone is your pal when things are ok - but when we excersise our power against those who do not play properly we become the target for abuse and accusations of favouritism and worse.

This is a very diffiuclt situation.

What Travesty said was a good argument but what Zebulon was an equally good one.

I think i would go with what Zebulon has said.I think the question should not be about who is a freelancer,or define him and comapre him with a rogue.

By wearing a tag u just polite by giving a warning,some knowledge about who u are,just waht Zebulon has said.
By killing according to ur whims and fancies does mean u are kind of a "sociopath" but it does NOT imply u are a rogue.

By defintion it is-
1)An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal.
2)One who is playfully mischievous; a scamp.
3)A wandering beggar; a vagrant.
4)A vicious and solitary animal, especially an elephant that has separated itself from its herd.
5)An organism, especially a plant, that shows an undesirable variation from a standard

If u read this then u will think Sythe should be a "rogue",
But Rogue as we know here in Void would be mean KOS to all at all times.Sythe here meanwhile kills say Clan B by siding with Clan A at a given time.
So if he was a rogue then he would have killed everybody everytime.

Just my thoughts on this.

I have received a bit of clairifcation as to the circumstances surrounding Scythes problem.


Apparently he requested to PvP with another player whilst he was not wearing his Eclipse tags - No problem there.  The challenged player declined the offer of PvP.  Apparently you still opened fire on the player and did so several times after being asked not to.  Whilst you may shoot at whoever you like as a Freelancer there are certain incidents where that is unacceptable.  First off, you asked for PvP and it was declined.  You should have honoured that request.  You did not do so.  The farce of the thing is that if you had simply attacked the individual as a Rogue would have done then I don't see the problem.  Having done so, if the attacked player has requested that you desist, then, I would consider several options - no more than one more kill if you are feeling petulant - however as an UNTAGGED player and a Freelancer I would have thought that there was more honour in leaving the player alone as requested.  The problem that you have is that you are bordering on harrasment - the target has asked not to be engaged at this time by you - a fellow freelancer.  You are not tagged as a Rogue or in your clan colours as Eclipse so whilst you are perfectly free to shoot at whoever, there is a point where a decision bordering on harassment has to be made.

The player in question gave you a timely warning and suggested that you would be banned if you persisted in your harassment having been asked to lay off for a bit.

My point regarding RP and such still stands.  However, whilst in your Freelancer, untagged characters it doesnt hurt to show a little consideration and the occasional bit of mercy when asked to desist for a bit.

and let me add , that while I freelance Im also an Eclipse(Nomad)...so as most of you know Nomads are KOS to all on VOID and will shoot anyone that gets within there radar.

when im a freelancer , im taking a break from a VERY rough RP , I dont act the way i do when Im wearing Eclipse tag...and thats the MAIN reason im not going to wear R , im already in a clan that is KOS to all...when Freelancing Im normally im around The Rock and people are coming and going and USUALLY most say "Sythe Pvp" and i say "GO"....the others I shoot at are clan/tag players ,  that are evil and shouldnt be DOCKED at The Rock due to there RP in the first place .... I may shoot at you today but prolly wont shoot at you the next time I see you , is that a R ? i dont think so!!  As a Freelancer Im clearing The Rock of evil clans/players...

Now as far as who shot my Freelancer/Trader character thats not worth posting...the point is as a Freelancer I get told I cant shoot another player without asking for pvp...but on the other hand clan/tag players can shoot Freelancers without anyone worries...

NOW , i will say there are days where theres 5-8 maybe 10 players at The Rock , all just sitting around chatting .... so I will start shooting those players just to get some action , and it usually works VERY well , we ALL end up fighting it out and having some good Free For All fights.....YOUVE BEEN THERE , YOU KNOW!!!  So does that make me an R ?  

I really think that unsaid admin doesnt like dieng .... and he/she really hates dieng by my guns....Have there been TONS of complaints about me ? I dont know ! Id like to know though ?  I think Im FAIR in who i kill and how many times I kill a person , when Im a Freelancer!!!

I guess the only thing for me to do is stay strong with ECLIPSE and KILL YOU ALL !!!

Bottom line - If you wish to act like an [R] - put the tag on.

Regardless of the tag or RP that you wish to fly (you will notice that you have some choices) have fun!  But, don't ruin the fun for the other player just to make fun for you.
