Freelancer closes 2mins after connecting to server, help?

:-w The game starts up fine, even with the whole custom void thing. I can find the server, select my character, and connect. 2 mins into playing, EVERYTHING closes thats associated with freelancer. Mod Manager, FLSDTC, and obviously the game. My firewall isn't blocking the game, and I cannot figure out what is causing me to disconnect. I am not violating anything, so I don't think im being kicked, I simply just don't know. If anyone has heard of a problem like this and knows of any possible solution, please let me know. I got all excited that I could eventually start a clan and play an interesting game online, and it only lasts 2 minutes. I cant even fly past the "welcome to void" sign before the game closes. So calling any help, please answer if you can.

im going to try without using the program that shows me all the servers. does any one have this servers direct ip?

Firstly re-download the Latest Void mod here on the site.

Secondly download one the shortcuts below.

Simply place it on your desktop and double click it.

When the game starts go to Multiplayer / click Yes / then click either LAN or NET - you'll see the server.

If you have a widescreen monitor download this one. It is the same as above, it just launches Freelancer in windowed mode.

If you are having the same problem as I was, and I think it's due to this game being torrented, then I have the solution.

Download the Void Direct Connection above and save the icon to the freelancer game folder (backup original .exe)
Next, right click and go to properties. Select "unblock" under "General"
Right click again, then send to desktop with shorcut.
And...enjoy!

(Note, I am using FLSDCT, which shows ALL servers. Until I got this different .exe, FL would close 2 mins about into multiplayer. With the new .exe, I can now play, however Void Direct Connect NEVER showed up as a server, and no servers showed without FLSDCT, even with the new .exe.)
