Well it looks like we're going to have a good number of players involved Sunday. There might even be some more joining when the condole announcements start.

I cannot be online any earlier then 5PM GMT, so at that time, we will start announcing and giving some instructions regarding the trade routes and commodities to buy etc. We hope to have everything organized by 5:15 PM. Then the fun begins.

Leaves me to say the following. I want to thank each and every one of you who has shown interest in this and willing to participate. It is thanks to you that this event will work out and create the possibility for more to come. Getting this much ammo for the event, shows us that there are still quite a lot of players here who like a decent RP and most of all, just like to have fun.
There is no way we could have dine this without you guys. It is you that make up the event, so again: many many thanks!  =D>  =D>  =D>

Furthermore I would like to ask for everyone to remember to have fun. That's the main ingredient here. Please say 'GF' after a pvp, stop shooting a trader when his hull is about to blow up, and give him a chance to pay his taxes. In return, traders should agree to pay taxes before they are blasted to bits, because you wouldn't sacrifice your life for a one million tax, if you can earn lot more in the next run.
And I encourage every pirate to include some tactics in their approach. Please don't make it a dock rape event. This would be too easy for you guys and would take away some of the fun away. Think of some nice tactics to surprise and overrule the trade convoy, so that there is no way out for them.

Ans everybody please write down any flaws you might see, so we can include them in the bug thread, posted right after the event.

Actually I forgot to ask one important thing.

We would like to ask for every trader involved to pay 500K to either me or Eagleone, so we can pay for the services for the escorts. You can do this in NY, just before the start. Eagleone and I have enough to pay them, but normally the traders would pay to hire the escorts, so it only seems right to do it this way. We will collect the money before the start of the event and pay the escorts after it is finished.
The 500K is just a symbolical number. In my opinion the actual prize to hire an escort should be a curtain percentage of the credits earned by the trader during his escorted trade run. The bigger the risk for the escort, the higher his prize should be. But that is something to discuss later on. Maybe something for next week...

To be perfectly clear: We want to make sure that nobody goes home empty-handed. So if there would be a trader who didn't have the chance to make some profit, we will compensate for that. Also there will be a little something-something for the pirates participating.
