@ eagle one i quite agree with you your not going to make much money with a cargo hold full of whatever cargo the trader is carrying, but lets face it is it about the money (at 200k i think not) or is it about the role play ???????.

doom i agree it should be about the role play i have said this before, anyone who thinks that tax alone is going to fund their pirate char is not being realistic. even at 1 million credits you probly wont tax enough to keep up your ship if you like to pvp alot. the reason i put out this ideal was because after 4 weeks of descussion on 2 other threads it seem to be a compermise of what everyone wanted to see happen. i mean what are the facts.

fact taxes are to low everyone or at least 99% of everyone agrees with this.

fact pirates dont even try to tax any more, i have a STU char and have been taxed one time and anyone who has read the forums knows i will pay no f1 or refuse. i have only been taxed 2 times in last 2 years and have made serveral billion during that time.

fact all we hear on the forums is that pirate role play is dead, so we are trying to help that by getting a tax increase and by starting the STU. however that can only go so far. players have to be will to play the role. that i cant do anything about, no one can.

to my shadow m8 i know the run in omega 7 you are talking about i used it. was taxed 1 time in over years and a half. and to be honest i can name 4 trade runs that pay more than that right now and about 6 more that pay as much. or you can turn them faster and still make as much or more. so there are trade routes out there.

i restarted all my char at the end of april i only keep 1.2 billion of my money i already have over 2 billion on my chars and i only trade 5 to 6 runs a day, rest my time is exploring and pvp with my war char. so you can make money, pirates have to leave sparta to come and get it.

I voted "yes", but I disagree the way to do it.  :(

(Repeat again...) People only need decrease his rank puting all money in the bank or just transfering it to another fighter char. In that way people won't be never over rank 60, so the max. tax is again 200k!!!  #-o

Pirates won't never find a trader over rank 60!! this is not the sollution, sorry Eagleone.

well hash i cant speak for the rest, for all the cowards out there, buy once my main char is back to were i use to have him, i leave half of everything i make on my trader. before i deleted my char in april my trader was lev 86 in an AT. to the player who always hide their money, well all i can say is its only a game, they can only tax you not take all of it. i personally hate to look at my player list and see any of my char less than lev 70. i have some right now because of starting over, but it wont be long and they will all be back above lev 70.

i know what you are saying tho m8, but this is what most pirate want to see the tax go up. once that is done at least they cant complain the tax is to low.

I vote yes.

But i agree with a post from WW from a few months ago.  We need bigger and better trade routes where traders can earn a fortune if they want to risk it.  Should bring out pirates to attack traders which should bring out navy/police to protect as well.

Anyway, small steps first eh.

blackheart that is right on spot, small steps, it is like we are rebuilding the pirate role play all over again. for to long players have either not played a pirate or play it like a rogue or just use that ship for pvp and nomad rep to get weps. but hardly anyone goes out and tries to just tax (or steal money or intimidate money) for those of you who dont like the word tax. it is all the same, use to be you would see hunting parties go after tax but now you might get taxed if the pirate happens to be were you are while he is trying to fix a rep or pick up weps or something like  that. it seems to be an after thought, not the main reason for having an [x] tag char. i thought that was what the role was to hunt traders and steal some of there money. not set in sparta and alex and pvp all day, then come on forums and whine about the pirate role play. because to be honest that is all i have seen for to long, alot of whining but no one willing to step up and fix it.

so i decided to spearhead an attempt to at least patch it up some, it can only help the server when role play char are played correctly. it creats more of that magical word "FUN". after all that is why i play, to have fun.

well it has been a week and only 27 votes. either you all dont care, or you would rather set and complain and blame the a-team for the death of pirate role play. well i can say this after this thread, and a few others we have run in the past 2 and a half months. if pirate role play dies here it is because of the players, not the a-team. this is your chance to let the a-team know what you would like to see changed. but 27 votes just looks like no one cares but a few!

i will tell you this if this does not get anymore suport than this, i never want to see anouther post on the forums from anyone whinning about taxes!!!
600+views and 27 votes pathetic!
i dont know maybe v3nom is right, maybe most of you are cowards and afraid to say anything on the forums. you know there are adult ways to disagree with someone, and still be freinds and be helpful and respectful. that is what we are doing here we dont agree with the 200k tax set by the a-team so we are trying to change it like adults. not whinning or flaming but by getting support to change it and then take it to a-team and ask if they would change because that is what the community wants.

SO PLEASE VOTE, YES OR NO,  you dont have to post, but vote one way or the other.
thank you.

I think I'm bound to agree with Hash...

My trader is definitely strapped for cash, mostly because I don't need it in order to trade, and also because I like to pvp, and ammo's expensive.

But if you're in favor of this going through, and you're wondering what to do until then, just pay extra when you get taxed.  The pirate and trader rp's are symbiotic, so why not bend the rules a bit for the advancement of both?

Just a thought.
We're making a list.
We're checking it twice.

This is disappointing to say the least. But strange too. Look at how many participants we had on the first STU run. What was it? 40 something? We were overwhelmed! Over 70 players were online, more then on most other times. Concluding you would say that the interest for a good RP is still here. Or nobody would have joined our event or showed that amount of interest.
Now people are offered a chance to change the tax scale in a proper way, and almost nobody shows up. I have to say it sorta hurts me (can't find a better suitable English word) to see this. Several community members, including Eagleone and myself, have done some serious efforts to improve the pirate RP on this server, because we had the impression there was a demand for it. These are efforts to bring some improvements to the game for those who long for it. On behalf of that part of the community.

This thread is a result of a community member's drive to improve the gameplay for a lot of others. It takes guts, time and persistance to initiate these things and see them trough.
Pirate RP has been an issue for a long time. Like Eagle said, many have talked about it in one way or the other. The general note has mostly been that lots of people would like to see the tax scale raised. A lot of pirates have complained about the 200K limit being a laugh. Some have even set aside their pirate RP for this reason. And now they all have the chance to cast their vote on a possible improvement of the very thing they have been complaining about. But they don't...

Frankly I think it's insulting to - in this case - Eagleone, who has been doing a terrific job to boost RP in more ways then one. It shows of utter lack of respect to ignore his efforts. If you don't care, then at least cast your vote for the gameplay of your fellow community members. It's hardly any effort.
What's more: this lack of response has a discouraging effect on people who do care and come up with ideas. If this is the response they get after thinking long and hard about an issue, and initiating a possible solution, then what's the point of doing it the next time?

Remember that without these valuable members working out ideas for you and other members, there will be little to no input from the community left.
Not voting here means loosing your right to complain about the topic.

So get up off of your behinds and cast your vote. Don't be scared, it's just a computer screen your looking at.

As you were chaps.
