Israel is surrounded by enemies who seek the destruction of the State of Israel.  This latest response from Israel is in return for the launching of missiles after the end of the last negotiated cease fire. Hamas started this round of attacks.  They hide amongst the civilian population and force them by terror and coertion to hide military supplies and equipment.  Missiles are launched from school yards and hospitals into Israel.

The people of Gaza need to tell Hamas - "Enough! We will not be your sacrifical scape goats anymore!"

The weapons - made and designed by Iran are smuggled through Egypt via tunnels into Gaza.  They are not smuggling supplies of food or medicine in order to breach the blockade but weapons.  

You CANNOT reason with religious bigotry.  You CANNOT reason with someone who has been brainwashed into thinking that it is his or her devine heritage and duty to murder infidels and unbelievers.  Hamas must be removed from power by the Palestinian people.  They even fight among themselves! Hamas, Fatah and Hezbollah all struggling for power.

Money and aid given by misguided bleeding hearts and liberals doesnt end up with ordinary people - it ends up under the control of these terrorists who use the money from this and from drug trafficking to push people who are kept deliberately in poverty by their so called "brothers" in order to make them more susceptable to being talked into becoimg "Martyrs".  The family of a suicide bomber is given a new home, food and status - they never have to work again and are cared for by these people who hold them up as shining examples of devoted and holy people! This encourages more to follow.  Mothers persuade their own children into doing these unspeakable acts! Widows are brainwashed into becoming martyrs.

Israel is defending itself - but countries like Egypt and Syria and Lebanon pay the whole "peace" process nothing more than lip service.  Someone needs to make the first radical step.  Egypt needs to do more to eradicate the mechanisms that allow these missiles and weapons to be smuggled through tunnels from Egyptian territory.  
I feel that the politicians in Egypt are affraid that the Arab and Muslim world will shun them and attack them if they are seen to back any moves to persuade the Muslim world to recognise Israel as a legitimate state.  Having already been threatened with attacks and with tourists being murdered by extremists Egypt is worried it will lose much of the lucrative tourist trade should these attacks increase if they are seen to support Israel.

In my line of work there is the likelyhood that in any attack or major incident I will be one of the first casualties. That does not disuade me from what I do and I will continue to do it to the best of my ability.

The world was angry that the Russians where using cluster bombs on Georgia. Everyone agreed it was cruel and therefore banned from using it. Altough it was never proved the Russians fired the bomb they did get alot of trouble from all countries.

Israel is doing it as we speak against a country that doesnt have the supplies to defend theirselfs. It was on the media this day. Showing Israel planes shooting Cluster Bombs on Gaza cities.
This video was released on youtube 5 days ago showing Israel using cluster bombs. I could not find the footage released on our news this day, but it means that Israel is still using those bombs today. How many innocent children died because of this?

The world just let it happan. Sure Hamas is using a weak by using human shields. im not saying they are good, but Israel is still worse. I still dont know why the world isnt stepping in.

The problem with much of this is perspective.  One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.  As has been stated by most here, in any conflict it is always the civilian that suffers and in particular it is the children who suffer most, either through injury, trauma (physical and mental) and sadly too often through being made orphans.

Ask yourself this.  At what point would you personaly stop and forgive?  If your wife was killed? Your children? Your parents?  Your friends and colleagues? Your comrades?

In the end all that anyone in the world requires or wants is to have a relatively prosperous and comfortable life, free from fear and conflict.  These are the very basics of human rights.  

Gaza was eventualy given to the Palestinians.  They are beset with an inability to govern without a therocracy and a reliance on the organisations that refuse to relinquish their grasp on power.  Integration would be the only way to ensure a lasting peace.  For the Muslim, Jewish and Christian people of Israel and the surrounding territories to agree to share the wealth.  Sadly you have three diametricaly opposed view points and all basing their arguments on religious text, suitably taken out of context to promote their political objectives.  The Jewish view point is that the state of Israel represents the land of the Israelites as promised to them in the Old Testament.  For the Muslims it represents the land of Abraham and the holy sites of Mohammed.  To the small Christian minority it is the land that gave birth to their faith and all three have a vested interest in it.  The problem arises because the two dominant races in the area are unable to find any common ground, with one in particular set on the eradication of the other.

When Israel choses to defend itself and launch punitive strikes into the heartland of their enemy, because it is unlike any conventional war ever fought and is based on guerilla war fuelled by religious zealots, many innocent civilians are placed in harms way.  This is a centuries old problem, exacerbated by many conquerors from the Phillistines (and before), to Alexander the Great and from Napoleon to the British Empire.  

As in all "complicated" matters there is always a "simplistic" solution.  Someone has to stop first.  Does that mean that the person who asks for peace is the vanquished?  This gives rise to rehtoric and propaganda, each trying to outdo the other in the righteousness stakes before offering the "olive branch" and claiming "Victory". It presents a difficult situation where neither side is prepared to back down because of the potential loss of percieved credebility and "loss of face".  In truth this whole situation is based upon a fundamental human failing on both sides and that is PRIDE.  A stubborn refusal to stop launching missiles and to wield the continued threat of suicide bombers on one side and an unwillingness to give ground to any idea of integration and co operative government on the other.

The poverty caused by these standpoints makes the refugee camps a breeding ground for future generations of terrorists and suicide bombers.  Once you take control of something it is very difficult to let it go, no matter how right that would be.  Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely and on both sides this is equaly true.  

I have lost friends and colleagues in pursuit of something that I believe to be right.  I do not hate a particular race or religion because of that.  There are individuals that I hold responsible for these things both directly and indirectly, both by their actions and inactions. They may or may not be brought to book for these things.  I have had to take a painful and professional detachment when dealing with such things.

Please remember one thing when stepping into judge Israel for its robust and brutal strike in order to protect its citizens.  This is not the first time that Israel has been threatened with Balistic Missile attacks from its neighbours and that the stated and clear aim of many of Israels neighbours is the eradication of the state of Israel and the genocide of the Jewish race.

I will say no more on this very emotive subject, but before you pass judgement on who is to blame remember that there are far more "grey" areas that the fundamentalists dont want you to see or to look too closely into for fear of revealing the weakness of the power they wield.  

There are two things certain in life.  Change and Death.  Resisting the first can swiftly bring about the other.
