Tbh with you m8 I can't make out what it's supposed to resemble. Have practice and try out the Gimp functions, you will find yourself getting better with every effort. ;)

just add a bit less of every effect. try to get some clear n crisp lines. in combination with the Blur effects it'll give a nice contrast.

less is more

erm, noobish question: what is "gimp"?

I use Gimp for my sigs, and it has - as far as I know - a lot of the functions PS has. You can do pretty much everything with it, and it is for sure the very best open source graphix program out there. The support is also the best, there's a lot of stuff to be found on the net in terms of tuts. Some people even state that it beats Photoshop.
Personally I have to say that the most beautiful effects I have seen, are still made by PS.
