All i can say that this was harmless(should be maybe in Offtopic section).

Most people here are die-hard FL players even though they play other games as well,such a thing won't make people switch to some "other game" or whatever.
How can it?
As it is it is not an 'intentional advertisement' and was just an honest attempt to connect Voidians here about something else.
Lets face it FL is an old game and regardless of whether such posts are made or not,things will be as it is.

You should not have edited it.

And we should stop being paranoid.

Think it'd rather be better if advertising other games on these forums would stay off since that Void is one and only FL, my opinion.
But however to keep in touch with the gameworld ain't negative, it does let you know what's happening around.
Maybe in the offtopic section it could be used.

It doesn't make a difference,none at all.

Any time you surf the net,you will come across 1000s of ads related to games,chances are that you already know this game.

As i said being paranoid that we will lose players because of a small post like this is stupid.

I would have maybe agreed if this was a close rival of Void,another FL Server,a direct competitor but in this case i don't see any competition.

Do you know what this implies?
It implies that we as a community are paranoid about our own "death",we can't stop it,it is inevitable,we will never be able to play in the way we should,we will never be able to say good-bye to this server on high note because our "death" will be "bitter".
A closed community instead of being open.

well to be honest we already know all the other space sim games, with this forum or not.
the guys who left for other games r known, and they didnt need this site for that, they already knew their comming after a huge publicity on many other sites. so there's no prob.
ALTHO, there is games that r not known, and might kick new players that just came to FL recently, to that unkown but enjoyable space sim games.
well i think we shud ban the space sim games adversiting, but others games we shud let such as CoD etc...

@Geromix:well we know, me and u and other fl lovers wont quit fl just for adverisiting other games..hey and newbies that just came to FL and look theres a better game than this; hey think about em

oh second of all, i supose i havent made it clear enough, this isnt really a "game" its a proggy made by one person, wich is mostly create your own space craft via 2d editor and then watch em shoot each other...it dosent even have a multiplayer as far as i know, so frankly it would only profit void, cause every time i even think of this game i have a great want to play void, cause it so reminds of it (e.g. the "game" is rather a poor 2d version of void id say)

Nice - Like the Big X said - best to keep these "adverts" off the VOID - it just stops a load of unecessary cluter - I personaly have nothing against you telling people about trying other games - its not as if the only game anyone plays is Freelancer.  In truth Geromix we are a little more concerned with the inappropriate advertising of other Freelancer servers rather than other games as such. Other servers can be accessed via places like Lancers Reactor and most other players here have played on at least one other Freelancer server. Given that the pool is getting smaller for Freelancer Servers the concern is that we may loose out to the other servers and face closure - this has almost happend twice as far as I am aware.  

To clarify - we are not "anti" other games or servers - we are just wary of those that come here to "poach" players - they turn up when the server is quiet and say things like "its boring here - come and play on the BlahdeBlah server..." We cant stop you going - its not like we can come round your house and hold your dog hostage or anything like that.

Given its been edited very possibly for the reasons stated above, I will lock it down as there does not seem to be any great advantage in leaving this open. Thanks.
