Yet another "Cannot connect to server" post

I just finished downloading and installing the mod manager tried to find the void (I use Vista, not sure what version and don't know how to find out).  Could not find it.   So i came back here and used the direct connect link.  The server popped up but when i went to join it said "could not connect to this server.  This is usually caused by a server going offline when you attempted to connect.  It could also be your internet"

I have tried several times, twice with my virus protection off(it's Trend Micro btw), and again, i got the same message.

Well, your anti virus is the prob, delete it and download Avira anti vir. The lone anti virus i know that works with void in vista, and Vista is good for who knows how use it, if you don't know, then return to XP.

I worked with 5 mods at once without prob with Vista Ultimate version, so no need to post "XP FTW VISTA IZ POOR!!" messages, please
Oh and to check your version, go to Panel configuration, then System, you'll see the complete details of your pc ^^

Thanks Viper.   IF i had know trend was going to be a pain in the butt, i wouldn't have let my mother drop 80 bucks on trend last year for a two year subscription.   When it expires,which should be in a few months, i'll look into Avira.

Btw is Avira good? and How much is it to subscibe once you actually get the software?

I live in Algeria...i never buy anti virus....

so i dunno m8, but i can realy advise you ESET NOD32 , a great anti virus that have a cracked version, an unlimited crack version which i use it atm

I finally got access to the server!  All I had to do was run the game as an administrator and it let me into the server.   I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner.

If you can get Windows 7 do it, it is a MUCH better operating system than the earlier versions and I would quite happily buy all my family copies for Christmas....Yes, it is THAT good.
