No offence but like i said chosing setup n ship just because of this and forget about the skilled enemy isn't a good idea and a bit lame
in fact we can't create mod with different number of ammunition and 3 slot 360 missiles against 120 CMs is a bit unfair;p
the worst is if you have good ISP with low ping is equal you re a rocketmagnet and while you trying to gun down a spammer with double ping than yours...
...also missiles are expand their ping too
then no wonder we experience something like a cheat no matter that is a fact or not

@laughingman nowhere did I say something about forgetting the enemies skills, did I? In fact, I always claimed that missiles take a lot of skill (albeit other ones than guns) to use *effectivly*.
No one needs to change their setups- it was just my intent to point out what factors *can* affect your ability to defend against missiles.
You are free to do as whatever you like :D But (IMHO of course) all this complaining about missiles -often without the knowledge how to defend against missiles- is a bit lame, like if you complain about guns because you don't manage to move out of the way.
About the number of CM- that's arguable, of course. Personally, I would like some more of them, too- however, as I said they are not nearly half as usefull (esp on automatic) against missiles than most people think. They are not the auto-safe.
About ping...maybe I am wrong here, but are missile flight paths, collisions (aka hits) not calculated by the server? So your own ping will only have a mildly effect there, if that. The server tracks the ships, the flight paths and so on, and if it decides you are hit you get damage. Your own connection affects only how quick you get that information.
Am I misguided here?
What is true is that missile spam can increase the server load and increase lag- as you may have noticed, missiles track worse in lack, so in a way missile spammers are shooting down their own potential efficiency.
