Virus attack=PC K.O.

Hi guys, I tried this past weekend to fix my daddy's laptop from my computer. Bad idea...  :(
As soon I connected it in a LAN, I got a nonstop queue message of incoming trojans, worms, backdoors, badware, etc, etc..
I'm formating all HDs and restoring software. It will take me some time.
Sad part is that all my work creating cockpits is gone.  :-<
Damn viruses.

all what you hav to do go to any antivirus site like nod32 antivirus  its the best

I use nod32 For 3 years  and not one virus or trojans or rodik virus get pass go to nod32 site  

and use Online Scanner and it well kill all the virus For free  

the nod32 site is www.eset.com

too bad if I know befor you format youer pc  :(  but now you know  :D

Slowly I'm getting back to normality. Almost all stuff reinstalled.

I use Avast because it's free and quite fast. Well, got to say that there's not the perfect solution. It was faster than other antiviruses because, after brwosing and browsing, I discovered that many options were disabled. The tough ones. It was set as default security.

Same happens with other antivirus software, if you enable ALL security options your PC starts to slooooow down.

And I wasn't downloading porno!! Hehehe. I tried to fix my parents laptop from my computer, but rigth in the moment I connected them via LAN... boom!. Backdoor was open.

Now I got the antivirus set at "top on top" and my computer is even slower as before, but.. what else. Ping raised from 90 to 105.  :-<

Anyway.., it was time to cut my pc's hear (aka format), 8 years without formating is way too much time.  :D

Ahh mate I had a similar thing, however it infected the HD so bad that I had to buy a new one. Even after formatting, still would not work, so I had to buy a new one at £120.

The worst case scenario is, go to a friend with your HDD in a External Storage with USB. Make sure your friend have proper firewall, antivírus. ESET or Norton Int Sec / Antivirus can handle the problems caused by any kind of viruses. It's rare if any media files contain injurious elements. Using partitions on HDD also good idea. Compressed files have less chance to be infected if you checked previously. Compressing pictures by category, or even small programs the best thing you can do, for your important data and for HDD. Don't forget about defragmentation. Best i ever found is the norton speed disc. With HDD Sentimel you can see the health too.

DON'T USE FREEWARE ANTIVIRUS AND FIREWALL!!! ONE YEAR PROTECTION COSTS ONLY 30 EURO OR LESS!!!

use windows firewall only if you have legal edition and you get the latest dayly updates

I was using nod32... its very good but it does have weakness against about 0.000000000000000000000000% of viruses because the way nod32 detects viruses is different to other anti virus programs, which makes it very good, however the occasional one can bypass its defenses. Its just unlucky.

I've been always using NOD32 and never have had any bigger troubles with viruses. I just strongly recommend this AV..
