Lag issue/NPC spawning points

Post by Burn »

From what i understood the lag issue has been improoved/fixed
However while beeing in Babylonia trading i got miself some const yellow lag+red...this can of course blamed on my internet conection although interent explorer worked fine

What i did observe in-game (when docking out of Manhatton) was the fact that there were 7+npc present (Faction:Cryer,Navy POlice ,Bounty HUnters etc)
Always 7+ near Manhatton and this is probably the case in all main systems (Kusari,Rheinland and Liberty even in the Outlands)

In my opinion these high number and presence of npc is not necessary and only causes difficulties for the serverload
4+ max is quite enough in my opinion - nobody takes npc that serious unless you want to kill them.

By lowering the number of npc you'll provide a "refreshment" for the server and for it's players

This is not ment to be a critique at the staff but more a suggestion from which only the server and the in-game atmosphere should benefit.

If i am not wrong, when there are fewer players online then there are more NPCs.

I am not sure about this...i remember some Admin talking about this.

But i suppose the intention is not to make you feel lonely if there aren't too many players in-game.  :D (If you got an imagination as good as somebody like Comfort's then the NPCs seem real)

NPCs are slowing down the game...well ok they are, but hell even now there is not enought NPCs imo. I wanna fly in a living universe filled with trafic with big trains, with patrols. I remember times when there were 0 npc activity...wow it so epic boring. It was like a world after nuclear war filled with only few survivers lol :-D an empty boring world...

Yes the server throttles itself, so if there are high player numbers then the number and frequancy of npc spawns is reduced, low players, lots of npcs, we don't want you to get bored when there is no one about to slaughter.

I resent that. Even if it is pretty much true. Hey, they scream when they die - that makes them real, right?

Hey, woah - I said I think they're real, not that I regretted killing them. You are not cold-hearted enough for this space!

100%agreed.
NPCs can slow your PC down, not the ping increasing. anytime you wish to know the respond time just type /ping -for respond time /loss -to know is there any data pocket loss during this events

Maybe your internet explorer working fine but you can not rely on that information because you proably don't know about whats going on the background.
even if your net browser looks like fast, there is no such information how many millisec take to establish connection to host, downloading the required pictures and see the delay between the requests and accomplish.

the server is adjusting the number - agree and is a great tool.
But even so, sometime to pass trough the Alexandria nebula is ridiculous!
You need to engage like 20-30 outcasts- corsairs and is getting annoying rly fast.
And is worse when in formations giving support or assistance to unprepared new guys...like...helo..her's a corsair army ahead! :)
And should i mention that the WA1 under a corsair pilot hand is a pain in the a**..?  :aua: Imagine 5!
