Re: 3D Insights/Impact

Currently Void is the only mod in these planet with such a feature. If we remove the 3Ds we kill one great aspect of these mod. But we will never remove them...I hope. OMG there are 6 3D systems. Not 15 or 55, just damn 6! Removing them will server absolutely no purpose. They are nice, they are not frequently visited, yes, but they are part of these mod. So if you have problems with these systems then guess what? Ignore them. It is easy to do. In my opinion the question is not if you delete them or not, but how to improve them to look more interesting for new players. You know new players usually explore the moded mods to find the new ships, enquipment, etc.

And here I was thinking the 3D system concept was actually going to be reviewed and a "proper" series of them created and tested.

But what does Zeus know?

You know that there won't be any new systems in v9. Not to mention that before cleaning up the 3d systems, we need to clean up the 2d ones first. So, why bring this up now? As far as I know, very few people are bothered by the random-generated 3d systems, because you don't have to go there. There's nothing in those that can't be found elsewhere. (Apart from Hel ships, but there's no use to killing those atm.)
But hey, if you could create a "proper" one in the meantime, nobody's stopping you :P

I am for revising the 2d systems as well as the 3d ones
3d ones are interesting - a little cumbersome and random-ish - but incomplete in my opinion
If they will be worked more - that will be a feature others will not equal.
And i know if there is someone that could do it - our DEV can.
As for the 2 d ones - yeah...keep the FL "stereotype" and make it better perhaps, but the things they need the most is factions presence.
The new factions need to be balanced well - like the old one were - with reps and areas of interest.. they seam also random now (that includes the map positioning too)
With all this - again, this is a livable condition and a pretty great one if you ask me.
So let's keep on playing and less unnecessary talk...

This will change in the new version,i think. Factions would get a breath of fresh air. :)

As far as reviewing all other systems are concerned, sure, why not?
Any suggestions could be made in a proper manner.

But the problem is that the Dev Team in Void is lacking in numbers. Not enough developers to go about developing and changing the whole of Sirius and so nothing much may come out your suggestions.  :|

Now what the consensus that has been arrived among Dev Team and Writers is that all the events in the mod are happening 40 years after the Single Player campaign.
So the year is 842 A.S. in the mod.
Naturally,in 40 years a number of things can happen in a number of systems in Sirius. Many systems and factions could change.
It will take months, maybe a year to redo the entire game, system by system to get all these changes in-game according to the storyline.

So the focus is mainly on Europa,Nomads,Order etc. in terms of storyline and accordingly changes in their systems.

If we could get more developers then we can be more ambitious and changes systems in a major way. Too bad that is not the case.
