Hey everyone

Post by JonnyTooBad »

Recently reinstalled FL some years after enjoying it the first time around. Bit sad the normal multiplayer thing is all gone.

But very happy this one is here and working!

Have installed the mod and managed to log in but game crashes as i leave Manhatten at the moment.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Jonny

Sounds like a mod installation/activation error. I'll assume you're using Windows 7 or maybe Vista.

The most common cause of this these days is User Account Control (UAC) on the newer operating systems. Windows 7's security does not like what it considers unauthorised changes to files. Activating a mod on the mod manager (FLMM), namely those that include .dll files, is apparently one of these unauthorised changes.

To correct this, you must run FLMM and FL as admin. Right click on the FLMM icon and select Run as administrator on the shell menu. When FLMM opens, go to Tools -> Restore backups. Then activate the mod and run Freelancer as admin. Should work.

Okay have done that, but when i run as admin, the mod (2112v5B) doesn't show in my mod list.
If i close it and run it normally its there for me to enable.

Weird eh?

Never heard of that before. Maybe delete it, then restart FLMM as admin and redownloading will fix it.
