Antivirus issues

Post by darthnova »

I thought I would make this topic as a list of particullar antivirus programs that may cause problems connecting to FL.

The sheild deluxe 2009: servers show up but it prevents you from connecting.
Norton 360: My friend had troubles with this.
Bullguard?: I had a problem where all of a sudden the global server never showed up while I had bullguard installed. Had to get rid of it and re-install FL and it was fine after that.
Darnok had problems connecting with Avaast.
Problems connecting with avanquest systemsuite 8 pro
Avg stops fl now it has stricter measures.

Please post any other antivirus programs that cause problems with FL.

NOD32 is the best antivirus ever, updates automaticly, automaticly cleans some virus when it finds it and block the page that has a virus.Never got some problems whit it,NOD FTW!!!

avira no probs at all, but it begins to annoye me coz it doesn't want to dln update,, maybe coz of the free version.
i think i'll give NOD32 a try :D

put AVG, in start it doesn't make prob, but i noticed when it dl's major updates where the reboot of pc is needed, i see the global server but when i connect i see : connection could not be establsihed on that server, it is mainly caused by net probs bla bla bla.

AVIRA FTW :D

I have Norton 360 and it did stop me connecting once, just adding Freelancer as an exception for the firewall let me connect again.

Nod 32 king of AV if you play FL, just use the AV not the full suite as configuring the firewall may cause you problems.

Free Av's well now AVG doesn't work so well with FL, then I'd have to say try Avira Anitvir, or Avast, but to get Avast to work you have to turn off certain components.
