Feature Suggestions (In-Game&Forum)
I was thinking about a way how to make FL the Void more attractive for players and came up with the following idea.
I'm talking about players in-game stats to be implimented on their Forum chars in the Avatar section or Sig section.
Among them:Time online,Bases visited,Systems visited,Kills,Credits,Rank,completed Missions etc
Concept is not new as it is being used on a german freelancer server where ppl get revarded if they reach a surten level of ...let's say Time online. They get some sort of medals and other fancy stuff (pretty childish) but it seems to work and attract the adult player.
But i'm not talking about copying them i was thinking more about an overall view of player stats.
SOme of you may know the website cryosphere where all the FL player stats are listed.
Why not create our "own cryosphere" on the Forums? An overall info about each players in-game experience?
...it would be even more attractive if a player whipe would be implemented.
Most of the players refer to the Void as a pvp server.
Why not create a system which recognises organised and mannered pvp's between players?
Also ranks for the best pvp'ers by points etc
Sniper,Brawler pvp's ranks listed in the stats window of each forum registered user etc
I do know that it is only a game but in the end it's a competition aswell in which player wish to proove that they are good/best at something.
This does of course needs some thinking and devoloping but creating a link between the in game char and the Forum char sounds like a perfect concept.
It's been done here on the Void forums by a french player. He managed to create Signature which included stast.Sadly they had no success as the looked pretty bad with a black ackground.
So these were my thoughts if anyone wishes to share his ones about this issue or has a better idea about how to improove things around here please feel free to post.

Your first idea is not that good in my opinion, it has no utility
Your second is frags concept, which will certainly not be implemented.

Something to show achievements would go down well.
Can't say some kind of supported pvp ladder would be unused, either. I guess for stats you could look here:

i have to agree with the PvP system. Trying to beat the best is always a good thing, so people would practice and practice till they do, then in tern someone else will be doing the same its a circle
maybe the PvP sats /stats maybe a good thing, altho it was abused in the past

Yeah Zeus but why go there when yo can have it right in your Sig section or Avatar section.
And what about the more important pvp stats?
Most ppl agree that this was/is the best pvp server where the best pvp'er had the chance to battle it out.
Now as the best pvp server around what recognishion was offered to the best pvp'ers?
Not even a list similar to the one you've provided Zeus?So why is that?
There used to be a frags concept like McViper said but it went all wrong with people creating mass [R] tags and shooting each target =no questions asked just to get that extra kill and increase the kill/death ratio % (new players and Traders had to suffer a lot)
I used to be the number one at npc kills and always liked to check the kill-listing to compare myself to the others.
Why not impliment one for the pvp'ers which is much important in my opinion.?
And why not provide a rank system for the pvp ers?

Dyn wrote "altho it was abused in the past"
Indeed it was!
Create a rule in which pvpers invite themselves or better say Chalenge themselves (in-game and on forum)
Or get it organised with Void,Event staff?
or Write the results on a piece of paper :D
Players attitudes will change when they know that they will be ranked/revarded for a civilised pvp
They won't be interested in hunting new players/Traders or just sitting around chatting but more in prooving their skills.

Re: Feature Suggestions (In-Game&Forum)
Because you just get nubs running around planet diving etc to avoid death stats.
However, I think a properly server-side (read: ingame commands?) supported function could work.

Re: Feature Suggestions (In-Game&Forum)
If >this< worked, extracting the stats to a signature would be easy for someone who knew how to do that. As there's another page that works from the online list, that has kill/death stats.

Re: Feature Suggestions (In-Game&Forum)
As I mentioned in the other thread, I do believe it'd be good for life on the server if players had a goal to fight and compete for (aside from killing the players they don't like until they leave :)), so yep, this is a good place to start. I'm not sure whether frags would be so good for that, though: you can bet that soon there'd be people who would be farming kills by killing underequipped, vulnerable, and new players, which would certainly drive them away. Duels or a ranked ladder might be better, but we tried organising that in the past (linky), when there were a bit more than twice as many people around, and it didn't really take off then. Though I believe that might have been because a certain guy from Syn owned everyone with the then-overpowered lasers :P (17 wins and 0 losses does classify as owning, in my opinion.) War events are an option, too, but the problem with events is that they're usually held only once or twice a week, and then there's nothing to fight for in-between. So, any more ideas? :P

Oh my god, dynasty. How poor you don't know it?
Just take a look at the syn sigs. They got stats and stuff. So what the hell Dyn
Syndicate already got on forum stats. Although not everyone uses it.

Re: Feature Suggestions (In-Game&Forum)
@ nomad i was reffering to pvp stats not ranks/kills ect
oook here we go

These are 2 old ones that i uploaded.... you see the stats on our forum change with the stats on cryosphere
they arent png images there php images, i have no idea how lemmyC made them, but syndicate have used these since before i can remember, early 07 or late 06 i think. we cannot use these in these forums though, probably because of some of the settings (could easyly be changed if needed)
there quite handy to have, shows off how well your doing ect :D
(Yet another thing syndicate are unique about, not just our ingame characters
)
