Safe Harbor doesn't feel like a throwaway starter task. It's the kind of Arc Raiders mission that teaches you, pretty quickly, that grabbing loot and winning fights aren't always the same thing as making progress. You're working for Tian Wen, and the job sounds simple enough: follow a clue, recover a piece of gear, and get out. But because the whole chain has to be finished in one deployment, every mistake matters. If you're still sorting out your kit or comparing useful ARC Raiders Items before heading into Riven Tides, this is one quest where preparation really does pay off.
Getting into Hotel Panorama Azzurro
Your first stop is Hotel Panorama Azzurro, sitting out on the western side of the map. It's big, broken, and usually crawling with ARC patrols. That means charging through the front like you're clearing a bunker is a great way to burn ammo and draw trouble. A quieter route works better. Many players slip in from the south, using the zipline and stairs to reach the upper levels without waking up the whole building. Once inside, make for the rooftop restaurant area. You're not looking for a weapon crate this time. You need the kitchen, and inside it there should be a small interactable clue tied to a tennis racket sketch. It's easy to miss if you're rushing.
Following the clue to the courts
After you inspect the sketch, the quest points you toward the tennis courts northwest of the hotel. This bit can feel worse than the hotel itself, mostly because you're moving through more exposed ground. Don't sprint in a straight line unless you've checked the area first. ARC units can drift into your route, and other raiders may already be watching the same objective. When you reach the courts, stay low and look around the benches, walls, and billboard area. The dig spot is usually marked by disturbed soil rather than some huge obvious marker. Interact with it and you'll recover the Precision Gimbal, which is the item Tian Wen actually wants.
Protecting the Precision Gimbal
The moment you pick up the Gimbal, the mission changes from “find the thing” to “please don't die now.” If you've got secure storage, use it right away. There's no shame in playing careful here. Losing the item means repeating the hotel clue, the run to the courts, and the dig all over again. Pick an extraction point that makes sense for your position, not just the one you normally use. Customs House can work, but only if the route isn't packed with patrols or gunfire. Listen for fights ahead, cut around open roads when you can, and don't stop to loot every container on the way out.
Turning it in and moving forward
Once you extract safely, hand the Precision Gimbal over to Tian Wen and the Safe Harbor quest will wrap up. It's a small mission on paper, but it teaches the rhythm of Arc Raiders better than a dozen basic fights: scout first, move clean, protect the objective, then leave before greed gets you killed. Players who like to stay stocked for tougher runs may also look at RSVSR for game currency or item services, especially when they're preparing for later missions that ask for better gear and fewer mistakes. Safe Harbor is tense, but that's exactly why it sticks with people.
